FAYETTEVILLE — A trial began late Tuesday for a Rogers man accused of kidnapping a Fayetteville couple and trying to rob them at their home.

Lentonio Marcell Jenner, 26, of Rogers is charged with aggravated residential burglary, two counts of kidnapping, aggravated robbery, battery and two counts of terroristic threatening.

At least four of the charges carry the potential sentence of 10 to 40 years or life, if Jenner is convicted.

Fayetteville police say Jenner walked up to Jerry and Glenda Moore’s house on River Meadows Drive, off Huntsville Road, on Oct. 13, 2017 where he took out a gun and threatened the couple. He forced them to get in their vehicle to drive him to their bank for money, according to a police report.

Jerry Moore had a gun inside his Ford Explorer and shot Jenner in the leg. Jenner and Moore fought until Jenner was pushed out of the vehicle near Huntsville Road and River Meadows Drive, police said. Jenner was bleeding and laying in the road near the bridge over the West Fork of the White River when police found him.

“At the end of the day, Jerry struggled with the defendant and was able to reach his firearm and shoot the defendant and pull him out of the vehicle,” deputy prosecutor Whitney Doolittle told jurors.

The couple didn’t know Jenner, police said.

Police found three guns and shell casings during their investigation, according to the report. Two of the guns belonged to Jerry Moore while the third was found in Jenner’s pants pocket.

The trial is expected to resume this morning in Washington County Circuit Court before Judge Mark Lindsay. Jenner is represented by the Public Defender’s Office.

Jenner’s criminal history includes robbery and battery, according to the police report.

He’s awaiting trial on a bank robbery charge.

Police say Jenner and another man walked into the Arvest Bank at 1113 Garland Ave. on Jan. 3, 2017, brandished guns, demanded money and fled with $13,615. Police have said the pair are among four people who robbed the bank.

Jenner may also have been involved in armed robberies at two other banks and attempted robberies at three restaurants in Northwest Arkansas, according to his arrest affidavit.
