Leding listens, knows value of education

-

As a public school teacher, I know a quality education is the best way to ensure a bright future for Arkansas. It is a cause to which I have devoted my life.

Students and educators in our area have been fortunate to be represented by Rep. Greg Leding in the state Legislature for the past several years. Greg is a committed public school supporter in both word and deed. Greg has a strong track record of supporting our students and the educators who support them by regularly visiting public schools across his district. I know this to be true because he visited my school and attended a meeting with my grade-level teachers to see what we were working on with students in our classroom and to obtain our feedback. You see, when Greg visits our schools, he doesn’t come to talk to us; he comes to listen to us. He celebrates our students’ successes with us and intently listens to our concerns and challenges.

Rep. Leding takes our successes and challenges with him when he goes to Little Rock. He has worked across party lines to fight for more funding for our schools and a higher salary schedule for teachers. In 2017, he sponsored a bill that became law, which provides a tax deduction for educators who spend hundreds of dollars of their own money to provide needed supplies for their students.

As a teacher and an advocate for my students, I am thrilled that Rep. Leding has chosen to run for the state Senate to carry on this good work to ensure a brighter future for Arkansas’ children. I am proud to support Greg Leding, and I hope others will join me. CORRIE TUCKER Fayetteville
