Rogers High 51, Seneca, Mo. 35

The Mounties used a 15-3 second quarter to pull away for the big win on Monday evening in the opening round of the Carthage (Mo.) Invitation­al.

Rogers (3-0) trailed 8-6 after one quarter but led 21-11 at halftime and 34-19 after three quarters. Drew Miller poured in a team-high 18 points, while Derek Hobbs added 12.

The third-seeded Mounties will take on the Nevada-Neosho winner at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday in the semifinals.

Pea Ridge 50, Magazine 16

Pea Ridge held Magazine to just three points in the second half and rolled past the Rattlers for a first-round victory in the Golden Arrow Classic in Lavaca.

The Blackhawks had a 30-13 halftime lead and held Magazine scoreless in the third quarter, resulting in their lead ballooning to a 43-13 margin.

Noah Peterson had 14 points and Nick Coble 13 for Pea Ridge (5-1), which returns to action Thursday night with a semifinal game.

Western Grove 76, Green Forest 47

Hunter Baker had 18 of his 36 points in the third quarter as Western Grove knocked Green Forest in first-round action at the Bev Stone Border Classic in Omaha.

Western Grove outscored Green Forest 33-10 in the third quarter and stretched a 34-25 halftime lead into a 67-35 cushion.

Luke Lane added 14 for Western Grove, followed by Zack Bolin with 11 and Carsen Parker with 10. Haydon Bailey had 26 for Green Forest, while Rhett Powell chipped in 14.

Kingston 89, Lead Hill 82

Will Clark had 29 points to lead four Kingston players in double figures as the Yellowjack­ets rallied to defeat Lead Hill in the opening round of the Bev Stone Border Classic.

Kingston trailed 66-58 after three quarters but outscored Lead Hill 31-16 over the final 8 minutes to take the win.

Avery Weaver added 22 for Kingston, while Sam Parker had 18 and Gunnar Davis chipped in 11.

Charleston 70, Johnson County Westside 30

Charleston jumped out to a 29-4 first-quarter lead and cruised past Westside in opening-round action at the Scranton Invitation­al.

Jacob Green led the Tigers (2-1), followed by Trenton Goodson with 13 and Blaine Rowland with 11.

Pea Ridge 77, Magazine 47

Pea Ridge outscored Magazine 29-19 in the second quarter to pull away and claim a firstround victory in the Golden Arrow Classic in Lavaca.

Hollyn Davis had 24 points to lead four Lady Blackhawks in double figures, followed by Blakelee Winn and Maria Socha with 13 apiece and Katelyn Swope with 11. Jordyn Krigbaum had 15 and Kiara Vasquez 10 for Magazine.

Pea Ridge (6-2) returns to action in a semifinal game Thursday.

Charleston 55, Johnson County Westside 25

Alli Green had 20 points as Charleston remained unbeaten with a victory in the Scranton Classic.

Rylee Merechka added nine points and Baylee King eight for the Lady Tigers (5-0), which led 17-2 after one quarter and 32-9 at halftime.

Lead Hill 64, Green Forest 51

Lead Hill outscored Green Forest 25-11 in the third quarter to come from behind and earn an opening-round victory in the Bev Stone Border Classic in Omaha.

The outburst helped Lead Hill turn a 27-17 halftime deficit into a 42-38 lead.

Kelsey Rogers had 24 points to lead four Lead Hill players in double figures, followed by Lily Norman with 15, Kaya Huebner with 13 and Taylor Dillow 10. Ashley Farrar had 32 for Green Forest.

Western Grove 58, Kingston 54

Western Grove held off Kingston’s fourth-quarter comeback attempt to earn a firstround win in the Bev Stone Border Classic.

Western Grove led 31-24 at halftime and held a 43-34 cushion after three quarters.

Kayla Baker led a balanced attack for Western Grove with 16 points, followed by Tru Cartwright with 14, Desiree McClaine with 11 and Brooklynn Baker 10. Mellia Johnson scored 11 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter for Kingston, while Libbie Johnson had 14 and Hannah Johnson chipped in 11.
