BELLA VISTA — Joseph Michael Dore was born March 1, 1923. He was the son of John and Josephine Dore. Joe passed away Nov. 28, 2018.

He was married to Eunice L. Lake on July 5, 1961. They resided in Omaha until Joe retired from the postal service and they moved to Bell Vista, Ark. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Joe enjoyed friends and neighbors, golfing and walking Trafalgar Road.

He is survived by his wife Eunice; nephew, Michael (Susan) Lake and daughters, Tessa, Margery and Nicole; nephew, Harry (Joan) Brophy and children, Jill, Pam, John and Tim; and friend Dan Bloomer.

A rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass of the resurrecti­on at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Bella Vista, Ark.

BELLA VISTA — James Shannon McEvoy was born Jan. 14, 1969, at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, Calif., amidst the roar of overhead jet fighters and the flutter of Chinook and Huey attack helicopter­s. These factors apparently influenced his life as he was known for speed and toughness. A lifelong fight with juvenile diabetes mellitus ended his life prematurel­y on Nov. 26, 2018.

Jaime had a beautiful, big heart and loved his friends, family, hunting, and fishing. In high school he was a threeyear letterman as safety and wingback for the Springdale Bulldogs. He was a speedster in track and in the ninth grade was one of only three triple, league champions in the 100, 220, 440 yard dashes. He attended the U of A studying business and later made his living in residentia­l and commercial constructi­on.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynnette, maternal grandparen­ts, Carl and Betty Alver and his paternal grandparen­ts Dr. F.A. McEvoy and Ida.

He is survived by his father, Dr. F.E. McEvoy and Nannice Hornor; brothers, Steve McEvoy (wife Kellie), Marc McEvoy and Kayley Koziel; nephews, Jared McEvoy (wife Katie, daughter Charlotte), Shane McEvoy (fiancee Cynthia Pazmino), and Jason McEvoy.

Funeral service will be at the Sisco Chapel on Saturday morning, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.

BENTONVILL­E — Jeffrey Daniel Scates, 60, of Bentonvill­e, died Nov. 19, 2018, at Legacy Village Hospice in Bentonvill­e. He was born Dec. 16, 1957, in Wichita, Kan., to Richard Thomas Scates and N. Jane (King) Scates.

He graduated from Eureka Springs High School in 1976 and married Rebecca Sue (Prange) O’Malley on Sept. 26, 1992.

He owned and operated ASAP Screen and Promotions in Pineville, Mo.

He loved NASCAR, the outdoors (camping, offroading and riding motorcycle­s).

Daniel witnessed his Christian faith to everyone he met and always had a positive attitude in the face of his failing health. He was a member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church and Bella Vista Men’s Bible Study Group.

Survivors are his wife Rebecca Sue Scates of Bentonvill­e; his parents, Richard and Jane Scates of Bentonvill­e; a daughter, Alisa Scates of Booneville, Ark.; two step-children, Chad O’Malley and wife Amber of Bentonvill­e, Jennifer Dixon and husband Shawn of Pea Ridge; seven grandchild­ren and three great-grandchild­ren.

Service is set for 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at Bella Vista Baptist Church. Arrangemen­ts are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Walden Cemetery in Busch, Ark.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Dec. 1 at the church before the service.

CENTERTON — Jennifer Ann Bing passed away on Nov. 17, 2018. She was born on July 18, 1967, in Ames, Iowa, to Jim and Connie Jongewaard.

Jennifer’s passion was interior decorating. She ran her own decorating business, Herdzine, for close to 10 years, servicing the Northwest Arkansas community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bentonvill­e.

We will remember Jennifer’s big blue eyes and infectious laugh. You could always find her at Cracker Barrel on Sundays eating chicken-fried steak. She was an amazing cook, and the family always asked for her chess squares. She was the ultimate Christmas decorator and a great Mom. Her love for her daughters was infinite.

Jennifer’s survivors include her daughters, Chandler and Mckenzie Bing; her parents; and her sister, Ann Aylor.

Her Punky Doodle Noodle and Scooby love her and await reuniting in heaven.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Bentonvill­e. The date and time of the service are pending. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 in the old chapel of First Baptist Church in Bentonvill­e.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Randall Keith Risley, age 56, a resident of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at his home. He was born Oct. 17, 1962, in Fayettevil­le, the son of Harold D. and Virginia (Winn) Risley.

He was a dedicated Christian and a member of the Highland Park Assembly of God Church in Fayettevil­le. Randall was an avid outdoors man, loved to hunt and fish especially trophy hunting which is evident if you ever walked into his home. He founded his own company, the Randy Risley Foundation Company 27 years ago where he made many friends and colleagues. He was loved by many people and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparen­ts and one special nephew, Orey Hopper.

Survivors include his wife, Charesse Risley; two daughters, Miranda Risley Newell and Katie Risley; one son, Landon Risley; his parents, Harold and Virginia Risley; two sisters, Shirley Rieff and her husband Tracy and Gayla Danner; two grandchild­ren, Noah and Pyper Newell; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, 6-8 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at Highland Park Assembly of God in Fayettevil­le. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.

MAUMELLE — Darrell Layne Seward, age 63, of Maumelle, Ark., passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2018, with his wife and family by his side. He was born in Bartlesvil­le, Okla., on April 4, 1955, to his late parents, Lawrence Samuel and Jane Joyce Ogden Seward.

Darrell was retired from the Little Rock School District after teaching, coaching and mentoring young athletes for more than 40 years. As a student, he attended Brazoswood High School in Clute, Texas, (1969-70), C.E. Donart High School in Stillwater, Okla., (1970-73), Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Ark., (1973-77) and the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala. Darrell was a member of the Arkansas High School Coaches Associatio­n, American Football Coaches Associatio­n (AFCA) and the Arkansas Football Coaches Associatio­n (ARFCA). In addition, he was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and was a man that loved the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Seward; one son, Jeffrey Landers; one brother, Michael Seward (Bo) and their children, Jeremy and Jordan; one sister, Cindy Seward; mother and father-in-law, Lamar and Linda Lester; two sisters-inlaw, Lyric Lester and Maria Wild and his long-time best friend, Ron Smith.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at St. James United Methodist Church with Revs. Carness Vaughn, Greg Schick and his best friend, Larry Siegel officiatin­g with a reception to follow. A private burial will be at Riverwood Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Little Rock Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Pulaski County Humane Society, Women and Children First (The Center Against Family Violence), and St. James United Methodist Church of Little Rock.

PEA RIDGE — Betty Sue DeWitt, 81, of Pea Ridge, died Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born July 18, 1937 at Marble, Ark., to Arthur Albert Lynch and Sarah Ann McCollough Lynch.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tracey DeWitt; her parents; and one sister, Reba Pyatt.

She enjoyed reading and being around children. She was a member the Pea Ridge Church of the Nazarene where she was very active.

Survivors are one daughter, Pamela Cox of Pea Ridge; three sons, David Henry (Pansy) of Bentonvill­e, Bryan Henry (Maryanne) of Washburn, and Greg Henry (Tonya) of Georgetown, Texas; two sisters, Helen Pierce (Tommy) of Chanute, Mont., Kathy Walker (Gale) of Bella Vista; three brothers, Max Lynch of Bella Vista, Jim Lynch (Eva Sue) of Fayettevil­le, Don Lynch (Phyllis) of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchild­ren and 13 great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Burial will be at Bentonvill­e City Cemetery.

ROGERS — Dorothy Ann Hughes, 67, of Rogers passed away Nov. 27, 2018, in Rogers. She was born Aug. 30, 1951, in Rogers the daughter of Floyd and Wanda Stover Cotton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Jimmy, Jerry, Floyd (Junior) Cotton and Iva Jones.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sherry Clark of Lowell and Sandra Harper of Clifty; her siblings, Joe Cotton and Carolyn Nichols; five grandchild­ren and four great-grandchild­ren.

WEST FORK — Carl R. Underhill, 83, of West Fork, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, in Fayettevil­le. He was born July 25, 1935, in West Fork to William and Edith Putnum Underhill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Underhill.

Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had 20 years of numerous business adventures followed by 20 years work and retirement from Campbell Soup Company. He was a very active father to his five children and coached several sports teams, volunteere­d in Booster Clubs and never missed a sideline. He adored his grandchild­ren and supported their every en deavor. Carl was a loyal friend to many and always enjoyed a heated political conversati­on.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathy Underhill of the home; daughter, Pam Rosenthal (Dan) of Carbondale, Colo., and their children, Sarah and Carly; daughter, Debbie Werner (Tom) of Plymouth, Wis. and their children, Andrea, Madeline and Gregory; son, Carl Underhill (Andrea) of West Fork and children, Amanda and Corey; son, Glen Underhill of Glenwood Springs, Colo. and his children, Reece, Sam and Elise; daughter, Kim Linden (Jeff) of Rockford, Ill. and their children, Cooper and Ian; a great-granddaugh­ter, Madison; and three brothers, Ralph, William and Glen Underhill and their families.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at Beard’s Chapel with Pastor Ervin Hutchens officiatin­g. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Beard’s Chapel on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. Interment will follow in Baptist Ford Cemetery with military honors.

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. — Juliane Katharina “Julie” Arnold, 92, formerly of Bentonvill­e and recently of Garden Grove, Calif., passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 17, 2018. She was born July 25, 1926, in Germany to the late Joseph P. and Katharina Sell Langenbach.

Following WWII, she married Lewis Gene Arnold and they, along with their young sons, moved to California to raise their family. She was proud of her outstandin­g 45-year career ‘ringing doorbells’ as an independen­t Avon representa­tive and earning ‘Top Sales’ awards in her district each of those years. Upon their retirement, they moved to Bentonvill­e. She also enjoyed shopping, interior decorating and especially proud of her home. In later years, she returned to California to be near her family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her loving husband of over 50 years; a sister who passed as an infant and her brother. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Johnson (Dean) and Charmaine Fiermonte (Mario) all of California; her sons, Jurgen Arnold (Lorraine) of Nevada and Larry Arnold of Missouri; 13 grandchild­ren; six great-grandchild­ren; numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Her graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m., tomorrow, Nov. 30 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse.
