BOYS

Fayettevil­le 77, Springfiel­d (Mo.) Parkview 47

The Purple Bulldogs shook off an early deficit and outscored Parkview 43-19 in the second and third quarters combined to roll to the Arvest Classic title on Saturday in Springfiel­d, Mo.

Collin Cooper poured in a team-high 32 points to earn tournament most valuable player honors for Fayettevil­le, which trailed 16-15 after a quarter. But the Purple’Dogs (4-1) outscored Parkview (3-1) 20-10 for a 35-26 halftime lead.

Cooper, a Central Arkansas commit, hit 11 of 14 free throws and scored 17 points in the second half to help Fayettevil­le pull away for the big win. Austin Garrett added 10 points for Fayettevil­le.

Parkview’s Tyem Freeman, a Missouri State signee, finished with a game-high 35 points. Pea Ridge 59, Lavaca 52

Nick Coble had 19 points as Pea Ridge won the Golden Arrow Classic championsh­ip Saturday with a win over the host team.

Carson Rhine added 12 points and Noah Peterson 11 for Pea Ridge, which improved its record to 7-1.

Kingston 64, Flippin 51

Kingston had four players finish in double figures Saturday as the Yellowjack­ets claimed third place in the Bev Stone Border Classic at Omaha.

Sam Parker had 20 points for Kingston, which outscored Flippin 13-7 in the fourth quarter to pull away. Gunnar Davis was next with 14 while Avery Weaver and William Clark added 11 apiece.

Devyn Payne led Flippin (10-8) with 14 points while Lance May and Jackson Baker chipped in 10 each.

Hackett 72, Lead Hill 43

Hackett had a strong start and a strong finish to knock off Lead Hill and claim fifth place in the Bev Stone Border Classic.

Avery Hester had 23 points for Hackett, which jumped out to a 19-2 lead and outscored Lead Hill 24-9 in the fourth quarter. Brady Hester added 15 and Dylan Kats 14 for the Hornets.

FS Northside 43, DeSoto, Texas 36

The Grizzlies closed play in the Arlington (Texas) Classic on a winning note, knocking off DeSoto, Texas Saturday.

Northside (4-2) got 15 points from Jaylin Williams and Javion Releford added 11.

GIRLS

Charleston 51, Dardanelle 25

A 17-3 run in the second quarter helped Charleston blow past Dardanelle and win the Logan County Bank Holiday Classic.

The Lady Tigers used the outburst to turn a 12-8 lead into a comfortabl­e 29-11 halftime margin.

Alli Green had 17 points for Charleston (7-0), followed by Alexis Grandison with 10 and Payton Rucker with 9.

Omaha 54, Lead Hill 52

Omaha outscored Lead Hill 21-16 in the fourth quarter to come from behind and win the Bev Stone Border Classic championsh­ip game Saturday in Omaha.

Taylor Tucker had 25 points and was the only player in double figures for Omaha, which trailed 20-16 at halftime. Kaya Huebner led Lead Hill with 22 points while Kelsey Rogers added 16. Western Grove 62, Flippin 43

Four Western Grove players scored in double figures as the Lady Warriors outscored Flippin 30-14 in the second half and took third place in the Bev Stone Border Classic.

Hailey Woods had 19 for Western Grove, followed by Tru Cartwright 17, Desiree McClaine with 12 and Kayla Baker with 10. Emily Davenport led Flippin with 17.

Green Forest 38, Hackett 35

Green Forest outscored Hackett 11-8 in the fourth quarter and won the fifth-place game in the Bev Stone Border Classic.

Ashley Farrar scored all 11 of the Lady Tigers’ points in the fourth quarter and finished with 25. Taylor Glass led Hackett with 12 points, including a 10-of-13 outing from the free-throw line. First National Bank of NWA

Women

UAFS 75, Southwest Baptist 62

UAFS scored 29 points in the first quarter, building a 14-point lead, and it was all Lady Lions the rest of way at the Stubblefie­ld Center.

It was the second-consecutiv­e win for the Lady Lions (3-6), who on Wednesday night beat Northeaste­rn State 75-62 to begin the fourgame home stand.

Every player scored for UAFS, which led 50-28 at halftime, and five players scored in double-figures – senior guard Daijah Brown (17 points), senior guard Mariah Green (16 points), junior guard Alexsis Brown (13 points), sophomore guard Dachelle Terry (11 points) and senior forward Ellie Lehne (10 points).

Three Bearcats scored in double-figures – junior forward Zahria White (16 points), senior guard Morgan Henderson (15 points) and sophomore forward Sydney Bandy (10 points). White had a team-high six rebounds.
