Fisher 25th in national finals

Camren Fischer of Fayetteville finished 25th in a time of 16:07.1 Saturday at the Foot Locker Cross Country National Finals in San Diego, Calif.

It was an improvement for Fisher, who fell and finished 40th last year at the prestigious event that features the nation’s top high school runners in cross country.

“The Foot Locker experience is unrivaled and so much fun,” said Fisher, the cross country champion in Arkansas. “This year, I was much more confident. Still, I don’t think I was quite prepared for it this year. Maybe I went out a little too hard the first mile and should have been more reserved. Good experience, nonetheless.”
