SONA NAMES BOARD MEMBERS
Four new members were recently appointed to the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA) Board of Directors.
Each board member will serve a three-year term that begins immediately and will continue through June 2021.
The new board members are:
Jack Cleghorn, an organist and choirmaster at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. Cleghorn most recently served as the music director/conductor for the Charleston (S.C.) Symphony Youth Orchestra. A Fayetteville native, he has held a number of liturgical music positions.
Carl Frazier-Sparks, a senior legal counsel at Walmart. Frazier-Sparks was formerly a law partner at the firm of Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC in Lexington, Ken., where he also served on the Board of Directors of The Lexington Philharmonic.
Marti Sudduth, who retired to Northwest Arkansas after 24 years as assistant director and lead teacher for the Primary 2 classroom at the University School, The Tulsa University. There, Sudduth enjoyed a notable career of teaching and writing for and about gifted students. She is also a member of the Walton Arts Center Board of Directors.
Anthony Sumlin, a senior manager of business analytics at Walmart. Sumlin has extensive experience in business analytics and product development at both Walmart and Tyson. He is a member of the Artinfusion Advisory Council at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
SoNA Executive Director Matthew Herren said each of the four is uniquely qualified to serve, with strong connections to specialized sectors of the community and backgrounds in leadership and service. As part of the 14-member board, they will work to continue providing the forward-looking guidance and sound financial management that SoNA as an organization exemplifies.
