■ David Hunter Moore, 23, who owns a staffing company in north Mississipp­i, was arrested after a female employee told police that she had discovered a camera resembling a phone charger in the women’s restroom, with officers saying they later found two other cameras at Moore’s desk.

■ Clint Gray, 35, was arrested at a Wells Fargo branch in Solana Beach, Calif., after he tried to rob the bank, told customers to call 911, then stripped to his underwear and sat in a chair near the front door until deputies arrived, authoritie­s said.

■ Sarah McPharlin, 29, of Gross Pointe Woods, Mich., and Daru Smith, 29, of Chicago have formed a friendship in a Chicago hospital after both underwent rare triple transplant surgeries that provided the healthy heart, liver and kidney each needed.

■ Curt Clayton, emergency management director in Union County, Miss., said a Walmart store in New Albany reopened to applause after he used a tranquiliz­er gun to apprehend a redtailed hawk that had entered the store and begun flying around, causing the store to be closed for 90 minutes.

■ Robert Crosland, a teacher at Preston Junior High School in Idaho who was accused of feeding a live puppy to a snapping turtle in front of several students, was acquitted of a misdemeano­r animal-cruelty charge after jurors heard a recorded interview in which Crosland said he thought he was doing the right thing because the puppy was sick and likely to die.

■ Nazher Sabree, 21, who had a loaded handgun when he was buzzed into his old elementary school before being escorted out by the principal, was arrested after he was then seen trying to get inside nearby houses, according to police in Darby, Pa.

■ George Moffett Jr., a detective in Pinellas County, Fla., was fired after other deputies said he showed up drunk to the scene of a homicide and failed field sobriety and breath tests, resulting in his arrest on a DUI charge.

■ Alma Cadwalader, 19, of Oakland, Calif., was arrested on battery and other counts after she bit a jogger who had pepper-sprayed her dog while attempting to fend off the attacking animal at a San Francisco Bay Area park, police said.

■ August Williams, 46, is accused of grabbing a woman and then following her as she ran into a karate studio, where people protected her and called 911, resulting in Williams’ arrest on attempted kidnapping and other counts.
