BENTONVILLE — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Centerton man after he failed to turn himself in to start his prison sentence for killing a man in a crash.

Mitchell Ramsey, 23, pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in November and was sentenced to 20 years in prison with seven years suspended.

Benton County Circuit Judge Brad Karren ordered Ramsey to report to court Monday to be taken into custody, taken to the Benton County Jail and transferred to prison.

Ramsey did not go to court Monday, and Karren ordered a warrant for his arrest.

Rogers police responded to a three-vehicle crash at North 13th and West Persimmon streets at 4:05 p.m. Sept. 28, 2017, according to court documents.

Officer Donald Davis reported he could smell alcohol on Ramsey’s breath and noticed Ramsey’s speech was slurred, according to a probable cause affidavit. A paramedic who treated Ramsey noted he appeared intoxicated, according to the affidavit.

William Dudzieski, the driver of one of the other cars, died at Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville from injuries suffered in the wreck.

Brandon Henson, the driver of the third vehicle, told police he was stopped on North 13th Street when he saw Ramsey’s car hit Dudzieski’s car. Henson said Ramsey didn’t stop at the stop sign, according to court documents.

Ramsey told police he didn’t remember anything about the accident and only remembered leaving JJ’s Grill in Rogers, according to the affidavit. Police obtained a blood sample from Ramsey. The sample indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.20. The legal limit in Arkansas is 0.08.

Bryan Sexton, deputy prosecutor, said in November that, if Ramsey failed to turn himself in, he would seek to revoke the seven-year suspended part of the sentence Ramsey received and request he serve 20 years in prison.
