FAYETTEVILLE — Samuel “Sam” John Cordrey, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 in Fayetteville. He was born August 9, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Marie Waldo Cordrey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Sam was a retired Navy veteran having served several tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Navy in San Diego, Calif., in 1985 as Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8). Sam moved to Arkansas in 1985 after his retirement. He was owner/operator of Sam’s Aircraft in Springdale. Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Razorback fan. He loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandy Robards Cordrey; three children, Jeffrey Williams of Fayetteville, Tiffany Stills (Shane) of Elkins and Nichole Stills (Shawn) of Elkins; 6 grandchildren, Lauren, Eric, Blake, Clint, Cole and Derek; 1 great-granddaughter, Parker; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and a host of friends and extended family.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Beard’s Chapel with Rev. Jim Huffman and Jim Jernigan officiating. Interment will follow at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the funeral home.

FAYETTEVILLE — Steven Allan Hall, 71, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at his home. He was born April 10, 1947 in Fayetteville to Vernon and Frances Rose Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Russell; and a sister, Linda.

Steve graduated from the University of North Texas. His first job was with Moore Business Forms. Following that job, he ran his own table manufacturing company (Twin Tables). From there, he went on to become a rural mail carrier for 30 years.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Steve was a member of the North Woods Deer Camp. He was active in the Knights of Columbus Conway Council #4143. He was a 4th Degree Knight.

Steve is survived by Barbara Hall; a son, Luke Hall (Alisha) of Farmington; a daughter, Shannon Steinert (Kaedon) of Fayetteville; 2 brothers, Thomas and Patrick: a sister, Kathleen; 5 grandchildren, Barrett and Scarlett Hall and Olivia, Kaedon and Evan Steinert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fayetteville.

There will be a reception following the service.

FAYETTEVILLE — David J. Posey, age 77, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Shiloh Nursing and Rehab in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born September 26, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Bill and Marley C. (Reineke) Posey.

David served in the United States Air Force and retired after 24 years of service. After retiring from the service he continued his work with veterans, working for the State of Arkansas. He had previously served on the Greenland School Board. His hobbies included fishing, traveling, carpentry, woodworking and making toys in his shop for Arkansas Children’s Hospital as well as Shriner’s Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Don Posey.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Norma Posey; three daughters Roxanna Birge and husband Jerry of Elm Springs, Arkansas, Tarrie Fraley and husband Todd of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Summer Morton and husband Clay also of Fayetteville; two sisters Pat Hluchan of Springdale, Arkansas and Laura Jones of Paden, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 13th, 2019, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will follow at 12 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Todd Fraley, Jerry Birge, Clay Morton, David Mesplay, Jackson Copeland and Oscar Morton.

RATCLIFF — Don Mantooth, 61, a resident of Ratcliff passed away Friday.

ROGERS — Brenda (Bren) James Balk, of Rogers, entered into the presence of her Savior on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Bren’s body lost the 4 year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis but her soul won the victory.

Bren was born on August 27, 1957 in Bentonville, the daughter of Jesse James and June James McCuistion. She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1975. Bren worked for many years in local government including Benton County where she served as the Director of Emergency Management under County Judge Gary Black.

Bren met her husband, Monty Balk, while working for Benton County and they married on February 12, 1994. She was a faithful police officer’s wife, best friend, and traveling companion. After retirement, Bren and Monty traveled in their RV until Bren’s illness brought them back home to Rogers.

Bren’s joy was her Lord. She was artistic and creative, enjoying Bible journaling, painting and drawing. Bren was a quiet, private lady who loved her children, grandchildren and family beyond measure. She was a member of the Monte Ne Baptist Church of Rogers.

Bren was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish in memory, is her husband, Monty. Her children, Ryan Neill and wife Tessa of Bentonville, Justin Neil, Jayson Balk and wife Lindsey of Springdale, Kelli Balk Sanders and husband Zbow of Siloam Springs as well as “daughter-in-love” Vanessa Pyle of Rogers. She is survived by 12 grandchildren, Nick, Devon, Logan, Gage, and Noah Neill as well as Addie, Allison, and Aubrey Balk and Hunter, Zoey, and namesake Arrow Bren Sanders. Her 12th grandchild, Chase Balk, is due in May. Also surviving is sister Kathy Rodgers of Bella Vista and brothers Hoyt James of Decatur and Tommy McCuistion of Rogers.

Funeral services with be Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Monte Baptist Church in Rogers with Bros. Mack Mills and George McBryde officiating. There will be no visitation. ROGERS — Fannie R. Fulfer Harvey Evert, 92, received her wings on February 9, 2019 surrounded by family. She was born on February 20, 1926 to Preston and Fannie Bentley Fulfer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Virgie, Jack, Ana Mae, Brady, Jimmie (“Babe”), Ethel, Jay; and her oldest son, Charles Harvey.

She is survived by her children, Jim-Ed Harvey (Mona) of Terrell, Texas, Berline Undernehr (Jerry) of Avoca, Alline Pendley (Ron) of Rogers, Berl Harvey (Janet) of Healing Springs, Sherline Austin (Johnny) of Rogers, and youngest son and caregiver Larry Harvey of the home; sister-in-law, Lawanda Fulfer; 18 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, totaling close to 150 descendants, spanning five generations.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services will begin at 11. Burial will follow in Rogers City Cemetery.

SPRINGDALE — William Lee Harrison, 86, a resident of Springdale, Arkansas, entered into eternal joy, February 8, 2019 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born September 19, 1931 in Cane Hill, Arkansas.

Bill was a union carpenter and contractor in California for over 30 years, spending many of those years supervising the building of numerous housing tracts in Southern California. He was a faithful Christian and Deacon in the Free Will Baptist Church and held many offices within the church. Bill was a hardworking, dedicated, and loving husband, father, and provider who will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ott and Belle Wright Harrison and brother, Ott Harrison, Jr.

Survived by his wife of 65 years, Zelta Mae Harrison (Green) of Springdale, Arkansas; Brother, Don Harrison of Roland, Oklahoma; Son, Michael Lee Harrison and wife Donna of La Verne, California; Son, Mark Alan Harrison and wife Cheryl of Bakersfield, California; Daughter, Mitzi Elaine Diaz (Harrison) and husband David of Oxnard, California; 6 Grand Children and 10 Great Grand Children.

The family will visit with friends, Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 at 12 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove.

Interment will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville at 2 p.m. with Military Honors.
