Notable: Wrestling begins at 10 a.m. today with semifinals scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on Saturday. … The championsh­ip round is slated to start at 3:30 p.m. … The state wrestling tournament will be divided into three separate tournament­s instead of two this year. … In years past, schools were divided Class 1A-5A and Class 6A and 7A. Now they will be 1A-4A, 5A and then 6A. … Bentonvill­e, the defending Class 6A-7A champion, will be the favorite to win 6A. … The Tigers and their crosstown brethren Bentonvill­e West finished 1-2 last year in the large school division. … Berryville and Shiloh Christian could battle for the 1A-4A team title, along with a couple of other Central Arkansas teams. … Berryville finished fourth last year in the 1A-5A tournament. … Greenwood, which has 12 wrestled seeded, should be a contender in the newly created Class 5A tournament along with Searcy. … Berryville has five top seeds, including brothers Caleb Record (106) and Colton (285), who was runner-up in the heavyweigh­t class a year ago. … Shiloh Christian senior Wesley Solomon is seeded first at 126. … Bentonvill­e three top seeds, including Zane Sims and Jake Adams, who will be in search of their second straight state titles. … Rogers High’s Jake Turner is 40-0 and the top seed at 145 and will be looking to win his third straight state title. … Bentonvill­e West’s Charles (113) and Daryl Easterling (132) also earned top seeds. Daryl won at 126 a year ago. … Other top seeds from the area include Springdale High’s Logan Walton (138), Fayettevil­le’s Matthew Muller (182) and Rogers Heritage’s Charlie March (195). … Muller will also be looking for his second straight title.

Adams won the 6A-7A title at 120 pounds as a freshman and is the top seed at 126 in Class 6A this season.

Adams won the 6A-7A title at 120 pounds as a freshman and is the top seed at 126 in Class 6A this season.
