- GRAHAM THOMAS

SILOAM SPRINGS — John Brown sent its seniors out on a winning note Thursday night at Bill George Arena.

Senior Jake Caudle scored 21 points and senior Josh Bowling added 18 as the No. 23 Golden Eagles rolled to a 91-71 victory in their final regular season home game.

With the win, JBU swept the season series from Langston, which was ranked No. 4 in the nation Jan. 10 when JBU handed the Lions their first loss of the season, 71-68, on their home court.

Coupled with Science and Arts’ 74-71 loss at Oklahoma City, the Golden Eagles moved into second place in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings.

The Golden Eagles led 1311 in the first half and went on a 36-14 run to take a 24-point lead late in the first half.

Langston’s Knowledge Darby and Jerami Grace were both hit with technical fouls in that span, including Grace’s foul at the 3:47 mark with JBU leading 37-23. Caudle followed with a 3-pointer on the next possession to make it 40-23, and freshman Luke Harper hit back to back treys from opposite corners for a 46-23 lead.

An old fashioned threepoint play from Densier Carnes gave JBU a 49-25 lead, and the Golden Eagles carried a 52-28 lead into halftime.

JBU would pull ahead by as many as 34 points in the second half.

Harper added 18 points for JBU while Carnes had 15 — both off the bench.

Jorori Coleman led Langston (20-9, 12-9) with 13 points, while Tyrone Killings Jr. and Alfonzo Anderson each had 11.
