Choctaw Partner Fund

The Choctaw Nation awarded the city of Heavener $12,100, Poteau $22,300, Pocola $5,500 and LeFlore County $24,500 from the Choctaw Community Partner Fund to continue to help strengthen and develop the local area.

The Choctaw Nation will distribute a voluntary contributi­on on a quarterly basis to cities and counties that operate nongaming businesses throughout the Nation’s 10.5 counties.

“As a Nation we need to ensure our communitie­s stay strong and continue to grow together,” states Chief Gary Batton. “The goal of the community partner fund is to contribute to our cities and counties to stay whole and to have the proper funds they need in order to function and operate as well as possible.”

The Choctaw Nation is a sovereign tribal nation that recognizes the impact and influence in the many cities and counties where their people live and work. The expectatio­n is for each local government to apply

the Choctaw Community Partner Fund contributi­on toward supporting and developing the communitie­s that serve tribal and nontribal citizens.
