Is it any wonder teachers are hard to find anymore?

-

This is in regards to the Rogers teacher, Kanosha Grigsby, being charged with thirddegree battery.

First off with the student in question, why did she ignore the other teachers’ instruction? If this student would have stopped as instructed, this whole thing would not even be an issue. Then to basically fight with the teachers while they are trying to calm her down. What does the student do but start cursing loudly and try to walk away? When the teacher tried to stop the girl again she swung her purse, striking the teacher in the face. The teacher put the girl against the wall. Now the teacher is being charged with battery.

Whatever happened to respecting authority? The girl was clearly in the wrong. When a teacher asks you to do something, do it; don’t ignore it. Should the student in question be charged with assault? The teacher did have swelling under her right eye where she was struck with the purse.

This all boils down to students having all the authority in schools anymore. The teacher, even the principal, have almost no authority anymore. If they try and reprimand a student, the student’s parents file charges. What happened to raising your children to respect authority? This girl should be clearly expelled from school and taught a lesson on how to treat someone of authority.

What is this teaching our youth. How is this girl going to be once she is out of school and into the real world where she might some day have a boss who tells her to do something? Will she just throw a fit and charge them with something?
