Buckner Baptist Church,

First Presbyteri­an Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, hosts an Ash Wednesday service at 6:30 p.m. March 6. Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals and Study will begin on March 13 and conclude on April 10, with dinner at 5:15 p.m., followed by classes for all ages at 6 p.m.

First United Methodist Church in Springdale, 206 W. Johnson Ave., will host a learning session on CASA — Court Appointed Special Advocates — at 6:30 p.m. March 11 in the church’s chapel. A speaker from CASA will explain how they provide volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children.

BENTON COUNTY

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., hosts Lenten soup suppers and meditation­s in McKay Hall each Wednesday from March 6 through April 10. Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. with meditation­s beginning at 6:20 p.m. Suggested donation is $3 per person or $5 per family. Call the church office to sign up.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., hosts a special worship service March 5 for those that are unable to attend a regular worship service.

On March 31 there will be a special worship service at 9:30 a.m. celebratin­g the 30th anniversar­y of Bella Vista Lutheran Church. There will be only one worship service that day.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry is open every Friday

from 10 a.m. to noon and is in need of “Snack Pack” sugar-free cups and also low-sugar fruit cups. Items for Easter bags are also being sought: boxed chicken stuffing, canned green beans, cream of mushroom soup, boxed potatoes, canned fruit cocktail, boxed yellow or white cake mix. Orange or cherry jello (some sugar-free). Place your grocery sack with these items by April 11. Containers for your donations are in the church narthex.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, hosts a piano recital by church organist Broc Hite at noon Sunday in

Church Council will meet at 4 p.m. Sunday in Becker Hall. All in the church are welcome to hear the Rev. Jeanne Williams report on her experience at the UMC General Council meeting in St. Louis.

Lent begins with worship services at 11:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Ash Wednesday, March 6. Every week thereafter through April 16, there will be a worship service on Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. with a light lunch following.

A new grief support group, facilitate­d by the Rev. Brenda Wideman, will meet at 5:30 p.m. March 12 in the chapel and will meet every Tuesday for nine weeks.
