FAYETTEVIL­LE — John Andrew Winkelman, age 51, of Fayettevil­le, Arkansas, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019. He was born November 25, 1967, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Robert and Patricia Robinson Winkelman. John is preceded in death by his father and his sister, Kathryn Lee. He is a member of Covenant Presbyteri­an Church in Fayettevil­le. John graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in computer science and engineerin­g, and was working towards his Master’s degree at the University of Arkansas.

John had an immense love for his family, and he is survived by three daughters, Tori Costello and her husband Jacob of Fayettevil­le, Ashley Kelsey and her husband Chris of Fayettevil­le, Staci Bell and her husband Roland of Elkins, Arkansas; one son, Tyler Winkelman and his wife Anna of Fayettevil­le; mother, Patricia Winkelman of Fayettevil­le, five brothers, Robert Winkelman and his wife Darlene of West Hartford, Connecticu­t, Danial Winkelman of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, William Winkelman and his wife Xiaoyang of Colliervil­le, Tennessee, Thomas Winkelman and Charles Winkelman both of Fayettevil­le; grandson, Milo Bell and his nephew, Michael Winkelman.

Cremation arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayettevil­le, and John’s memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Covenant Presbyteri­an Church in Fayettevil­le on Monday, March 18.

PEA RIDGE — Edith Marie Bennett, 90, of Pea Ridge died March 16, 2019, in Bentonvill­e.

She was born September 7, 1928, in Durant, Mississipp­i, to Walter Issac Carnathan and Zula Swinney Carnathan. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-seven years, Thomas A. Bennett in 2010; five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors are two daughters, Karon Smith and husband Tim of Justin, Texas, Sandra Bennett of Bentonvill­e; five grandchild­ren and

two great-grandchild­ren.

Service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with the Rev. Loy Counts officiatin­g. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 at the funeral home.

ROGERS — Dr. Muriel Morgan Chism died on March 14, 2019 at her home in Rogers. She was born on February 7, 1926, in New York City.

She was a directress of Montessori schools in Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Denver, and Dallas, and also a public school teacher in Bentonvill­e and Rogers. In 1986 and 1987 she was selected Rogers Teacher of the Year, and she was selected as Arkansas Teacher of the Year in 1987.

She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Delta Kappa honorary societies, and was a past president of Beta Pi chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma society. Dr. Chism was listed in the 1990 edition of “Who’s Who Among American Teachers.”

As a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Rogers, she, for many years, served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Altar Guild, and a member of the Vestry, including serving as Senior Warden. Additional­ly, she directed a Montessori style summer kindergart­en program for a few years.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Warren Chism, Joan Morgan Chism-Diebold and husband Gary Diebold; three grandchild­ren, David Lewis and husband Cormac, Jacob Brown, Tiffany Chism; and one great-granddaugh­ter, Jacee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Maynard and Nettie Louise (Smith) Morgan; and her husband, James Warren Chism, Col. U.S. Army (retired).

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Burial will be in Fayettevil­le National Cemetery at 11 a.m., where she will be laid to rest with James. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Rogers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, Benton County Humane Society, and The Trevor Project. ——————Y——————

SPRINGDALE — Linda Louvean Hicks, 72, of Springdale passed away March 14, 2019.

Visitation Tuesday from 12 to 1 p.m. and services at 1 at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers.
