A staff member of the Mansfield Juvenile Treatment Center and a male and a female detainee have been detained following a fight Sunday at the Sebastian County facility.
Staff member Caleb Davis, 25, of Huntington was arrested for third-degree battery and posted a $1,000 bond to be released from the county jail, according to a news release from the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.
During an investigation into the fight, deputies said they saw Davis tell a male detainee who was handcuffed behind his back to sit down and then kick him in the thigh to force him to the ground, according to the release.
A staff member was injured when he was attacked by a male detainee, according to the release. Emergency personnel were called but no one was taken to a hospital.
A 16-year-old male detainee was arrested for second-degree battery and a 14-year-old female detainee were arrested for third-degree attempted escape. Both were taken to the Sebastian County Juvenile Detention Center, according to the release.
The release said deputies responded to a call of a fight involving several juveniles at the center around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Staff members had broken up the fight between males and females at the center by the time deputies arrived, according to the release.
