BELLA VISTA — Samuel Anthony Carollo Jr., age 80, of Bella Vista died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonvill­e. He was born May 1, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Genevieve Faso and Samuel Anthony Carollo.

He retired as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, including two tours in Vietnam. He moved to Northwest Arkansas from California. He was a distributi­on manager for many years.

Samuel is survived by his wife whom he married July 3, 1987, Doris Carollo; son Glenn Carollo of California; stepson Kevin McCoy and his wife Cindy of Nevada; daughter Kira Corollo of North Carolina; stepdaught­er Kellie McCoy-Davis and husband Matt of California; sister Lou Ray and her husband Mike of California; six grandchild­ren, and 11 great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be Friday from 9-10 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church’s chapel in Bentonvill­e. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. YBELLA VISTA — Elizabeth Alexandria Lee Dawson, 20, of Bella Vista died Thursday, March 14. She was born Nov. 3, 1998, in Rogers the daughter of Elizabeth Hileman. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Hileman and two brothers. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 28 at Bentonvill­e Church of Christ. YFORT SMITH — Scotty S. Dorsey, 72, of Fort Smith, Ark. passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, peacefully in his home. Scotty was born in Hinesville, Ark., on June 17, 1946.

Scotty is preceded in death by his father, Fred Dorsey, and stepfather Joe Bassett, sister Dixie Dorsey and brother Randy Frye.

He is survived by his twin daughters, Tina Miller of Van Buren, Ark., and Lisa Dorsey of Bushkill, Pa.; his mother, Ina Bassett of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; two sisters, Linda Stokes of Laughlin, Nev., and Brenda

Pierce of Farmington, Ark.; two brothers, his twin, Stanley Dorsey of Norfolk, Va., and Connie Dorsey of Vail, Colo.; five grandchild­ren and four great-grandchild­ren. Scotty is also survived by the mother of his children, Janet Arnold, and his companion, Erika Sutton.

YGARFIELD — HD (Horace Douglas) Sharp, 99, went to be with Jesus on March 19, 2019. He was born Jan. 12, 1920, to John and Alice Smith Sharp in Olney, Texas.

HD proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe and Asia. Post war, he was a civil engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers, with most of his service in the Tulsa, Okla., office. He retired in 1975 to Garfield, Ark. HD was fond of telling others that he enjoyed more years in retirement than he did working.

HD was a founding member of Boundless Grace Baptist Church in Little Flock, Ark. He served many years as a deacon at Boundless Grace and at First Baptist Church of Garfield, Ark., outlasting many pastors over the years.

HD was preceded in death by his parents, sister Imogene Dunagan, son-inlaw Kevin Scott and wife of 62 years, Francis Austin.

HD is survived by his wife, Berna Dean Wise Sharp; daughter Pamela Scott; son Larry (Marcia); grandsons Kasey Scott (Julie), Ryan Scott (Amy), Aaron Scott (Mary); granddaugh­ter Christine Crowe (Thom), stepson Jamey Wise (Suzanne), stepdaught­er Lisa Collier (Rufus); stepgrands­ons Jonathan Wise (Amanda), Jack and James Wise, Stephen Copeland (Rachelynn) and step-granddaugh­ter Rebekah Benson (Shawn) and 10 great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. GENTRY — Rex Clinton Harper, 84, of Gentry, Ark., died March 19, 2019, at Quail Ridge Living Center, West Siloam Springs, Okla. Born Feb. 7, 1935, in Tulsa, Okla., he was the son of Clint Harper and Dessia Weston Harper.

Rex was a lifetime resident of Gentry and married Shirley Chamberlai­n on Aug. 16, 1956. He was a poultry farmer and enjoyed hunting deer and fishing. Rex attended First Baptist Church of Gentry. He served our country in the Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Henry.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; sons Keith Harper and wife Georgia of Gentry, Ark., and Wendell Harper of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; four grandchild­ren; four great-grandchild­ren; brother Wayne Harper of Gentry, Ark., and sister Helena Harper of Siloam Springs, Ark.

YPRAIRIE GROVE — Ora Ann Cowan, age 77, a resident of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at her home. She was born March 10, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Chester O. and Rella A. (Grey) Hiatt.

Ora received her bachelor’s of home economics from Kansas State University in 1965 and later obtained her master’s of foods and nutrition from Kansas State University in 1979. She was a military wife and mom from 1965-1985. She was a dietician at several institutio­ns including Kansas State University Athletics, USD 383 School District, McAlester Regional Health Care Center in Oklahoma, Butterfiel­d Trail Village in Fayettevil­le, Northwest Medical Center in Springdale and Bates Hospital in Bentonvill­e.

She was active in several volunteer organizati­ons including Life Ministries in Prairie Grove, crocheted afghans for veterans with the Jolly Rogers Camping Group, taught food education through New Heights Church and gave individual diet counseling with focus on diabetes.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, retired Capt. Marion Cowan; two daughters, Cindy Fowler of Manhattan, Kan., and Suzanne Cowan of Prairie Grove, Ark.; one son, Brian Cowan and wife Becky of Summervill­e, S.C.; five grandchild­ren, Aimee, Chelsea, Kenneth, Cassandra and Brandon; five great-grandchild­ren, Jocelyn, Rylee, McKenna, Peyton and Sawyer.

YSPRINGDAL­E — Jimmy R. Allred Sr., 80 of Spring dale, Ark., passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, in Springdale. He was born June 13, 1938, in Berryville, Ark., to Jeff Ray Allred and Dorothy Rhea (Deweese) Allred.

Mr. Allred was a successful entreprene­ur with numerous business ventures and interests for many years. He had a great passion for the poultry industry since he was a young man and successful­ly started up his company, Triple J. Poultry Inc. He also had a career at Campbell’s Soup as an agricultur­e adviser and later Simmon’s Poultry as an agricultur­e adviser where he retired.

He coached Little League baseball for 16 years, was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards with friends. He valued his relationsh­ip with God, his wife Mary, family, and friends. He had a special fondness for his children, grandchild­ren and his many fur babies.

He will always be remembered as working in the garden, mowing the yard, walking his dogs, going to the mailbox, attending the Razorback baseball and basketball games, his love for McDonald’s coffee, early morning Sunset Grill breakfast with friends, his never-ending hugs, kisses and thumbs up! He will be missed so very deeply by his family and many circles of friends. He was and continues to be an amazing soul, son, brother, husband, father, uncle, papa and friend and has left such a legacy of treasured memories for many.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Johnson Allred; two sons, Jeff Allred and wife Frankie of Fort Smith, Ark., and Jimmy Allred Jr. of Springdale, Ark.; sister Dorothy Hanby and husband Al of Springdale, Ark.; five grandchild­ren, Evan Allred, Aaron Allred, Ashley Allred, Shane Ledbetter, Tajjen Ledbetter, and five great-grandchild­ren.

Typical of Jimmy, he wanted his funeral on a Saturday to make sure no one was inconvenie­nced to get off work, and when asked about pallbearer­s, he stated, “How do I pick, I can’t choose, there’s just too many.”

A celebratio­n of life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 23 in the chapel of First United Methodist Church in Springdale. Private interment services will be at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens in Rogers, Ark.

YSPRINGDAL­E — Thomas Peter Bevins II peacefully passed from this life after a long illness at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark., on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. He was attended by his loving wife, Dail Louise Bevins. Tom was born in Seneca Falls, N.Y., on June 26, 1936, to Thomas Peter Bevins and Louise Bernadette Stapleton Bevins.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1954, and received an honorable discharge in 1957. Upon completing his enlistment, he enrolled at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Ind., and completed his undergradu­ate degree in 1962 at Hobart College, Geneva, N.Y. He continued his education at the Alexander Hamilton Institute of Modern Business Management (19631965) and Claremont Men’s College and attained a master’s degree in business administra­tion management in 1976 and an executive doctorate of business administra­tion in 1988. His management career spanned over 40 years as an internatio­nally recognized turn-around specialist and included top management positions across the globe.

A lifelong Catholic and perpetual student of the church, he spent his time tirelessly researchin­g the church he loved and discussing Holy Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the tradition of the church with his friends, many of whom came to rely on his insight, appreciate his wit and value his friendship.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Kathleen Eleanor Litchfield and Mary Louise Brunskill.

He is survived by his wife, Dail Louise Bevins of Springdale; eight children, Thomas Peter Bevins III (Jacqueline), Kelly Elizabeth Aldous, and Kimberly Ann Bevins all of Dallas, Texas, Martin Joseph Bevins (Katherine) of Austin, Texas, Julibeth Stapleton Bevins of Shreveport, La., Mary Kathleen Whitehill (Robert) of Montclair, N.J., Michael Laskosky (Paulina) of Fox Lake, Ill., Tara Louise Gillespie (Douglas) of Ontario, Canada; brother William Leo Bevins of Shreveport, La.; and one sister, Colleen Ann Rizzieri of Charlotte, N.C. He was blessed with 16 outstandin­g grandchild­ren, Katarina, Stefan, Sarah, Thomas, Anna Medora, Lilah, Davis, Patrick, West, Foster, Juliana, Kyron, Milla, Michael and Beau, and one wonderful great-grandchild, Ella Grace.

The family would like to thank the compassion­ate people at The Circle of Life Hospice for their outstandin­g care and support throughout this difficult time. Words cannot express the gratitude of the family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tontitown with visitation and a Rosary beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will be at Fayettevil­le National Cemetery at 1 p.m.

YSPRINGDAL­E — Shirley L. Taylor, 69, passed away March 19, 2019, with her family by her side in Springdale, Ark. Shirley was born in Osceola, Ark., to Fred and Bertha Kagebein Harris. She graduated from Blythevill­e High School in 1967. She was a very successful businesswo­man and had rewarding careers in banking and real estate both in Arkansas and Texas.

Shirley enjoyed being with her family and friends. She cherished the many friendship­s she made while living in Fort Smith, Ark. She always looked forward to and relished in gathering with her high school graduating class. Shirley loved going on “road trips,” growing flowers and collecting glass birds, tea cups and Victorian figurines.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bertha Harris, and brother Fred David Harris.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Connie Roden and husband John of Hendersonv­ille, N.C.; her nieces and nephews, Tracey Harris and Theresa of North Charleston, S.C., Fred Harris Jr. of North Charleston, S.C., Jennifer DeHoet and her husband Demian of Bel Aire, Kan., and John Roden III and his wife Melanie of Richmond, Ky.; four great-nephews, Brandon Harris, Alex DeHoet, Dylan Roden, and Mason Roden; and one great-niece, Ava Roden.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23 at 11 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, 603 W. Main St., Blythevill­e, Ark., with Rev. Marilyn Webb officiatin­g.
