BELLA VISTA — Sue Ann Jasper, 58, of Bella Vista died April 30. Survivors include son Nathan Adamson (Heather) of Bella Vista; daughter Karen Zaehringer (Jason) of Iowa; mother Lou Jasper of Bella Vista; brother John Jasper; sisters Danita Cox and Shelly Christense­n, and three grandchild­ren. CENTERTON — Joseph “Raymond” Allen, 102, of Centerton, Ark., passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale. Raymond was born on Feb. 28, 1917, at Locke, Ark., to Claud and Ruie Teague Allen.

He married Zula Faye Holt on May 16, 1942, in Mountainbu­rg, Ark. Raymond served with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for 27 years working at the Charlie Craig Hatchery in Centerton. He also raised poultry and beef cattle for a number of years. At the age of 96, he decided to retire from farming.

He was a member of Radiant Life Church in Bentonvill­e and served in various positions for about 58 years. His goals were to serve God, his family, and others. He enjoyed gardening, working, traveling and socializin­g. Raymond entertaine­d others with his stories of 102 years of living. He attributed his longevity to Ephesians 6:2-3 NIV “Honor your father and mother”which is the first commandmen­t with a promise- “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Zula, of 72 years; son-in-law Bradley Morris of Springdale, Ark.; brothers William Allen of Rogers, Ark., and Merle Allen of Zillah, Wash.; sisters Juanita Wells of Kent, Wash., and Lorene Manning of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Raymond is survived by daughters, Marilyn (Douglas) Shultz and Sheila Morris; grandson Scott Morris; granddaugh­ter Jillian (Cameron) Ramoly, all of Springdale; sisters Bonnie Self of Norman, Okla., Jean Carroll of Tulsa, Okla., and Joan Artman of Rogers, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews that honored him with visits, respect, and love.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019, from 4-6 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

A funeral service will be held Monday, May 6, 2019, at 10 a.m. at The Assembly, 2909 Cheri Whitlock, Siloam Springs. Pastors Gary Wheat, Phil Johnson, and Galen Pearcy will officiate the service. ELKINS — Howard Wendell Starks, age 61, passed away at his home in Elkins, Ark., on Sunday, April 28, 2019. He was born on July 8, 1957, in Tulsa, Okla., to Donald Lewis and Grace (Armstrong) Starks.

He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-inlaw LoVina Payton.

Growing up, Howard attended schools in Idabel and Broken Bow, Okla., graduating from Broken Bow High School in 1975. Howard joined the Army immediatel­y after high school. Basic training was at Fort Ord, Calif., and he was assigned to Frankfort, Germany, as his permanent duty station.

His specialty in the military was as a tactical wire operationa­l specialist. He served for three years and was honorably discharged, holding the rank of private first class. After his military service, he worked with communicat­ion companies locally in the area of pagers and the beginnings of cell phones, maintainin­g their remote operationa­l towers.

Howard loved Oklahoma Sooners football and was an avid HAM radio operator, communicat­ing around the world and even with astronauts on the Internatio­nal Space Station. Locally, he served as a severe weather spotter using his HAM radio with others to form a network to communicat­e and keep us safe during severe weather. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

Howard is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Wendy; son Grant and daughter Kristen; brothers Larry Starks and Carolyn of Rogers, Ark., and John Starks and Bethany of Springdale, Ark.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be held at Fayettevil­le First Church of the Nazarene from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, with memorial service starting at 11 a.m. Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Fayettevil­le National Cemetery. FAYETTEVIL­LE — Marcia Rae McCain, age 90, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed away Good Friday, April 19, 2019. She was born Nov. 11, 1928, to William Ray McClelland and Elizabeth (Voorhees) McClelland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Mrs. McCain was a homemaker and an enthusiast­ic volunteer for many charities. She served on several ministries at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, worked with Oaks Indian Mission, and helped found Cooperativ­e Emergency Outreach and Single Parent Scholarshi­p Fund of NWA. When she received recognitio­n awards for her charity work, she encouraged more people to volunteer. “The best way to honor a volunteer is to become a volunteer.”

She is survived by her four children, Steven McCain (Susan), Marilyn Wiesehan (John), David McCain (Wendy), and Bruce McCain; eight grandchild­ren, Devin, Lauren, Jeffery, Chris, Robert, Piper, Hannah, and Olivia, and three great grandchild­ren, Zane, Alanna, and Trevor.

A celebratio­n of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2925 N. Old Missouri Road, Fayettevil­le, Ark., 72703.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Frances Wood died on April 28, 2019, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. She was born June 11, 1926, in Bristow, Okla., to L.A. and Vera Thompson Wood.

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Fayettevil­le. She retired from the University of Arkansas as professor emeritus of kinesiolog­y in 1992 after 39 years. She previously taught physical education in the Tulsa Public Schools and at Oklahoma State University. She had a bachelor of science degree and a master of education from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University), and a doctor of education from the University of Houston.

She held profession­al offices in the Oklahoma Associatio­n for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (AHPER), Southern District AAHPER, SAPECW, and Arkansas AHPER. She served as folio reviewer and adjudicato­r of teacher education programs in physical education for many colleges and universiti­es seeking national accreditat­ion.

Her interests included travel, fishing, reading, and going up in anything that was airborne – hot air balloons, vintage airplanes, helicopter­s, WWII bombers, and a variety of small to large airplanes. Her interest in flying dated back to her childhood.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Sydney Wood of West Palm Beach, Fla,, and sister Mary E. Babb of Stillwater, Okla. Survivors include nieces Connie Merlis and husband Michael of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and Marilyn Jensen and husband Rick of Bristow, Okla., and longtime friend Betty A. Wallace of Fayettevil­le.

LITTLE ROCK — Barret Ryan Seymour, age 42, of Little Rock, Ark., died Saturday, April 27, 2019, suffering traumatic brain injuries after being hit by a car while walking Friday, April 26, 2019. He was born on Oct. 12, 1976, in Little Rock, Ark.

Barret graduated from Catholic High in Little Rock and from Westminste­r College in Fulton, Mo. He had a profession­al wine degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, Calif. He worked in the hospitalit­y and pharmaceut­ical industry. He was a proud Sigma Chi.

He was preceded in death by grandparen­ts Reynolds and Irma Lee Seymour. Survivors include his parents, Pam and Neil Jones of Little Rock, Ark., and Renny and Lynne Seymour of Elkins, Ark.; daughter Cori of Oklahoma; grandparen­ts John and Dollie McIntire of Roland, Ark.; brothers John Seymour (Jenny) of Eureka Springs, Ark., Reynolds Seymour of Bay, Ark., and Scott Jones of Little Rock, Ark., and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a special aunt, Toni Prohl (Eugene) of Mountain Home, Ark.

SPRINGDALE — Gayla Stevenson went home to be with the Lord, April 29, 2019. She was born April 9, 1945, to Max Downum and Betty Joe (Murphy) Downum.

She was predecease­d by her parents. She attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Springdale, Ark.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Gene Stevenson of the home; sons Kody Collins of Springdale and Korey Collins and his wife Cicily of Texarkana, Ark.; her beloved grandchild­ren Blake Collins, Zack Collins, Katlyn Collins, Austin Collins, Clancey Collins and Judd Muligan.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale from 6 to 8 p.m. with the funeral on Friday, May 3, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. TONTITOWN — Alma Lillian Hartman, age 100 and lifelong Tontitown resident, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019. She was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Tontitown to Joseph and Iginia Pianalto Cigainero. Alma loved to fish, crochet, quilt, and take Sunday drives. She owned and operated both the Corner Cafe and the Tontitown Cafe. She faithfully supported church missions and made hundreds of scapulars over the years.

Alma is survived by three daughters, Pat Pellin (Danny), and Gena Hartman, both of Tontitown, and Mary Nell Plumlee (Drew Trucks) of Fayettevil­le; eight grandchild­ren, Tonya, Janet, Duane Jr., Jackie, Eric, Michael, Kevin, and Kelli; 10 great-grandchild­ren, Jordan, Cory, Jeremiah, Jacob, Anna, Henry, Olivia, Annabella, Maci, and Jude.

She was preceded in death by son Duane Hartman; granddaugh­ters Denise and Jessica; great-grandson Jonathan and sisters, Catherine, Eileen, Madeline, and Lillian.

The family would like to thank Alma’s special caregivers including Donna, Rachael, House of Three, and Hospice of North Arkansas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tontitown with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. NOEL, Mo. — Mr. Sammy Eugene Burrow, 63, of Noel, Mo., departed this life Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at his home after a sudden illness. Sam entered this life on Nov. 15, 1955, in Siloam Springs, Ark., born to the union of Virgil and Juanita (Marshall) Burrow.

He was raised in Gravette, Ark., and was a 1973 graduate of Gravette High School. After graduation, he enlisted in U.S. Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged in 1977, he moved back home to Northwest Arkansas.

Sam worked hard his entire life. His employment history included Tyson Foods, Sunbeam, R&R and Walmart, with his greatest enjoyment being the operation of his farm near Noel, Mo., which he purchased in 1993. On Oct. 31, 1995, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Sligar and together they have shared the last 23 years. He loved being outdoors and spending time visiting with his family and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, daughter Kristie Bakema and sister Linda Burrow.

Sam is survived by his wife, Charlotte Burrow of the home; daughter Jennifer Burrow of Noel; grandchild­ren Kayla, Nicole, Kat, Scotty and Sadie; great-grandson Blu; mother Juanita Burrow of Noel; brother Skip Burrow of Noel; and several nieces, nephews and numerous close friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 3, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. LUBBOCK, Texas — Tommy Mitchell Baucom was born on Dec. 15, 1945, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., at City Hospital.

He graduated from Fayettevil­le High School in 1965. Tommy was drafted into the Army in March 1966, where he was a fuel specialist for the Army working on Schnook helicopter­s. He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on March 22, 1972.

Tommy remained a happy bachelor through life as he enjoyed playing golf, watching Arkansas sports and western movies on TV. He loved his coffee, steak, cigarettes, and country music.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Mitchell Baucom, mother Bessie Mae Baucom, niece Christi Bess Peebles and nephew Scott Mitchell Peebles.

Tommy is survived by his sister, Linda Sue Peebles; brother-in-law David Peebles; nieces Renee Peebles Alcala and her husband David Alcala and Lisa Peebles; grandnephe­w Austin Alcala; grandniece Avery Alcala and many other relatives.

Tommy lived his life “his way” all the way till the end.
