FAYETTEVIL­LE — Irene Harrison Dougan, 89, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., died on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019. She was born Jan. 15, 1930, in rural Washington County, Ark., near Hogeye, the daughter of Jeff and Lula Cate Frederick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Harrison, daughter Carolyn Sue Harrison and son James Ray (Jim) Harrison.

She is survived by son Ken Harrison and wife Dawn Prasifka of Little Rock; sister Edna Martin of Springdale; grandchild­ren James, Michael, and Christian Harrison; great-grandchild­ren Jessica McGrath, Zech Harrison, and Jamie Harrison; and great-great-grandchild Lilly McGrath.

Visitation will be held 3 p.m.–5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Center Street Church of Christ with a burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

ROGERS — Larry Brown, 76, of Rogers, passed away Aug. 13, 2019. He was born March 31, 1943, to Archie and Helen Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by children Adriann Fanning, James Brown and Andrea Brown, nine grandchild, three great-grandchild­ren. ROGERS — Myra Miles Moran, 77, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Aug. 15, 2019, at her home. She was born Oct. 30, 1941, in Omaha, Neb., as the daughter of the late Edward and Virginia Hoover Miles. She graduated with a bachelors degree of history and political science from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Myra was the editor of the State Senate Journal for many legislativ­e sessions in Little Rock between 1971 and 2003. She was also the coordinato­r for the Center for Arkansas Studies at UALR (where it is was founded).

Myra was also the owner and operator of Trolley Line Bookstore in Little Rock and Rogers from 1985 to 2018. She was also a committee-woman on the Rogers Planning Commission with her focus being on downtown Rogers developmen­t.

Myra loved books, and she would channel this love by organizing and leading vintage book tours of the United Kingdom on several occasions. Her other love was politics, and was extremely active in Democratic Party functions in both central and Northwest Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband Donald Pat Moran of the home; sons Jon Moran of Rogers and Andrew Moran of Fayettevil­le; daughters Erin Waddington of Atlanta and Dorinda Fox of Orlando; brothers Jerry Miles, Joseph Miles and Jimmy Miles of Omaha; sister Linda Miles of Omaha; grandchild­ren Jennifer Hennelly of Atlanta, Molly and Tyler Fox of Orlando, Ashlyn Gregory and Brooklyn Moran of Fayettevil­le and Miles Moran of Rogers.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday; Aug. 18, 2019, at the Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers, Ark. ROGERS — Joe Billy Stewart, age 96, of Rogers died Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at a local skilled care center. He was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Gibson County, Tenn., the son of Eva Lee Butler and William Matthew Stewart.

He served in the Army. He was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers. He was employed with General Motors for 31 years. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 71 years, Wilma Stewart, and six siblings.

Joe is survived by son Charles Stewart and wife Viola of Bella Vista; daughter Patricia Darling of Rogers; four grandchild­ren; six great-grandchild­ren and four great-great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers. A celebratio­n of Joe’s life will begin at 10 a.m. with Pastor James Longmate officiatin­g. Interment will be at noon at Fayettevil­le National Cemetery.

SPRINGDALE — Joseph Henry King, age 74, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at Innisfree Nursing and Rehab in Rogers. He was born Dec. 24, 1944, in Wichita, Kan., to Edward and Sara (Simpson) King.

He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

Joseph worked for George’s Inc, for 45 years. He was a maintenanc­e man and a jack of all trades. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father and grandfathe­r. He was loved by many.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie (Laird) King; son Billy J. King and wife Angela; daughters Bonnie Ann Mix and husband J.D., Mary Main,

and Kathy Seals; sister Sara Talley; 12 grandchild­ren and 12 great-grandchild­ren.

LOUISVILLE, Colo. — Martha Jane Wesley Cory was born on Nov. 29, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., and died Aug. 7, 2019, in Louisville, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carol Domine Wesley.

She is survived by daughter, Dr. Jennifer Cory Behler (Dr. Andrew Behler); grandchild­ren Jack, Addison and Eloise Behler; sisters Susan Krump and Sara (John) Ford; nieces and nephews Tim (Michele), Martha (Scott), Kathryn (Lyn), Ethan (Michelle), Erin (Patrick), Sara, Paul (Dana), Sean and Keith (Amy) and R. Michael Cory.

Martha graduated from Rogers High School, Rogers, Ark., in 1960, and Wichita State University in 1965. She received a master of arts from the Institute of Logopedics, Wichita State University in 1968. She worked for 25 years as a speech and language pa- thologist at Avista Therapy Clinic in Louisville, Colo. She taught English in Germany for eight years.

Upon retirement, Martha enjoyed time volunteeri­ng at the Food Bank, the local school, at a speech clinic in Rwanda and at many community events. Her hobbies included knitting, cross stitch, travel, reading and coffee with friends. Martha particular­ly loved children.

Martha was a friend extraordin­aire and she will be sorely missed by her family and her close-knit family of devoted friends: Carol, Dan, Gwen, Jeanie, Joan, Lori K, Lori W, Paula, Phil, Shandi, Sherry, Wallace and Cooper. She never met anyone who didn’t quickly become a friend.
