Stop the Bleed: Free classes offered by Northwest Health
Learning to stop severe bleeding quickly can help save lives
It is critically important that everyone learn how to quickly stop blood loss in order to save the lives of people who have been critically injured.
That’s according to Dr. Joe Olivi, Medical Director for Trauma Services for Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. “A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes. Uncontrollable bleeding is the No. 1 cause of preventable death from trauma. Those nearest to someone with a bleeding injury can make a life-saving difference if they are adequately trained to provide care to the injured person.”
Northwest Health is making a difference by providing free training. There are four “Stop the Bleed” classes being offered in the next months. Classes are from 5:30-6:30 pm on the following dates: • Tuesday, August 27, at Northwest Medical CenterBentonville
