Forgotten Heroes
The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History in MacArthur Park, 503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock, will screen Forgotten Heroes: The Robert Hartsock Story as part of its Movies at MacArthur series, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 20. Army Staff Sgt. Chalk deadline
Sept. 13 — by 11:59 p.m. — is the deadline for school, family, church and community groups to register for the chance to cover the sidewalks of the Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock, in chalk art during this year’s Thea Paves the Way, 8 a.m.-noon Sept. 21. Teachers who register their students and work together as a school group will be entered into a drawing to win one of six $250 gift certificates for art supplies from Dick Blick. ‘Jailhouse Rock’ party
The Arkansas Repertory Theatre hosts a “Jailhouse Rock” party, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rock Town Distillery, 1201 Main St., Little Rock, in conjunction with the musical Million Dollar Quartet, opening Sept. 6 at the Rep. Model railroad show
The Rogers Historical Museum hosts the Sugar Creek Model Railroad Club’s annual model railroad show, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday during the Rogers Frisco Festival and in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibit, “Trains, Trains & More Trains.” Several model railroad displays in the various gauges and in various sizes will be up at the museum’s Hailey Building, 313 S. Spectral tour
Shelle Stormoe, membership and activities coordinator for the Quapaw Quarter Association, will lead the “Specters, Spirits and Stories: A Haunted History Tour,” an adults-only bus tour of central Arkansas’ historic (and haunted) sites, 5:30-7:15 p.m. and 7:30-9:15 p.m. Oct. 18. The tour includes Curran Hall, the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, Mount Holly Cemetery and the North Little Rock Heritage Center.
