FAYETTEVIL­LE — Donald Raymond Pitts went to be with his Heavenly Father surrounded by family Monday, Sept. 9, 2019. He was born Dec. 11, 1938, the son of the late Ray and Ethel Pitts in Goshen, Ark.

Don was chairman of United Bank and was also chairman/CEO of United Built Homes. He founded United Bank from Little River Saving & Loan in 1978 and began his career with UBH in 1960. He also served on the boards of Ventures for Christ, Rodeo Foundation Committee and received the Chairman’s Award by the Arkansas League of Savings Institutio­ns.

He attended University Baptist Church. In his younger years he participat­ed in rodeo events (barrel racing) with his girls, coached youth basketball with his boys and was a avid supporter of Fayettevil­le Athletic Booster Club.

He was most happy in life spending time with his family and helping others. His care and compassion showed in everything he did. In his own words “realize that you should give your best every day in life and know that the most important success will be how you lived and served by being a disciple.”

He’s survived by his wife, Patty, of 61 years; children Kellie Lavy ( Trevor), Lisa Pitts, Donnie (Isabel), Darrin (Marci) and Andrew (Crystal); grandchild­ren Brittany Priest (Chase), Hannah Lavy, Emma Bradford (Sam), Olivia Lavy, Anna Grace Lavy, Trey Pitts, Louis Pitts, Elizabeth Pitts, Allie Pitts, Madison Ho (Tyler), Avery Pitts, Wryn Pitts, Sloane Pitts, Hudson Pitts and Graydon Pitts; great- grandchild­ren John Grady Priest, Langley Priest, Griffin Priest and Boden Bradford; and brother Dewey Pitts.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 15 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayettevil­le. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16 at University Baptist Church in Fayettevil­le. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

GRAVETTE — Mary Ann Farriester, 72, of Gravette passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019. She was born Jan. 11, 1947, in Bentonvill­e to the late Roy and Nina Oxford Lovell.

She was also preceded by her loving husband of 56 years, James Farriester, and son Charlie (Farriester)

She retired from a 36-year career as a laboratory technician with Kraft Foods.

Survivors include children Juaniethia Lynne Baker of Anderson, Mo., James Russell Farriester of Colcord, Okla., and Renee Langston of Gravette; sister Pearl Whorton (J.C.) of Siloam Springs; brother Eugene Lovell of Bentonvill­e; numerous grandchild­ren, great- grandchild­ren, great- great- grandchild­ren, extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Centerton with interment to follow in Rambo Cemetery east of Rogers.

HUNTSVILLE — Betty Lou Littrell, 86, of Huntsville, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, at the Jamestown Nursing and Rehab in Rogers, Ark. Betty was born Aug. 9, 1933, in Marble, Ark., a daughter of Frank Hudspeth and Cora Smith Hudspeth.

She was the widow of the late Floyd Homer Littrell, who preceded her in death.

Betty worked for the Bama Pie Company for many years when they lived in Tulsa and raised five children. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and other forms of crafts. She was of the Baptist denominati­on and also had attended the Shiloh Full Gospel Church and the Revival Tabernacle.

She is survived by sons Ronnie Littrell and wife Brenda of Rogers, David Littrell of Huntsville and Jack Littrell of Fayettevil­le; daughter Brenda Luper and husband Glen of Springdale; brothers Bobby Hudspeth and wife Nora and Jimmy Hudspeth and wife Joyce, all of Berryville; sisters Berta Hudspeth and Pearl Campbell, both of Berryville; 11 grandchild­ren and 20 great-grandchild­ren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers and daughter Barbara Peters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale with Pastor Jeremy McAtee officiatin­g. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alabam Cemetery in Alabam, Ark., under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home.

PARIS — Robert Leroy McGuire, 67, of Paris, passed away Wednesday. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Light of the World Tabernacle, 2053 N. Arkansas 217, Charleston, Ark. ROGERS — Carl Edward Myers, 62, of Rogers, Ark., passed away peacefully at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le, Ark., on Sept. 8, 2019. He was born in Rogers, Ark., on June 16, 1957, to Bill Myers and Joan Moore-Myers. He was an avid hunter of arrowheads, had a tremendous green thumb, and loved fishing on Beaver Lake. The greatest loves of his life were his grandchild­ren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Myers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Joan Donahoe (Jesse) of Lincoln; daughter Jessica Fritts (Halley) of Huntsville; son Chris Myers of Rogers; granddaugh­ters Autumn Bolinger of Rogers and Summer Bolinger of Huntsville; great granddaugh­ter Jaydence; brothers Randy (Debbie) Myers of Rogers, Wesley Powell of Hopewell, Va., and John Powell of Springdale; two nephews, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear lifelong friends.

SPRINGDALE — Roger Lynn Dellinger, 82, of Springdale, went to be with the Lord Sept. 11, 2019. He was born May 28, 1937, in Siloam Springs, Ark., the son of the late Luther Sherman Dellinger and Goldie Norton Dellinger.

He served in the Army. He was a member of Cross Church Springdale, where he served as a greeter. He was a retired insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Company where he worked for 36 years. Lynn was an avid golfer with eight holes in one, he enjoyed riding Harleys, traveling, snow skiing and automobile­s.

He is survived by children Pam Price and husband Stephen of Springdale, Ark., Jon Dellinger and wife Tammy of Springdale Ark., Eric Dellinger of Rogers, Ark., and Lynnelle Dellinger of Dallas, Texas; brothers Ron Dellinger and wife Linda of Tulsa, Okla., and Terry Dellinger and wife Sandy of Rogers, Ark.; sister Barbara Foreman of Siloam Springs, Ark.; grandchild­ren Jeremy Price, Sean Price, Derek Dellinger, Joshua Dellinger, Ashlyn Dellinger; and six great-grandchild­ren. Lynn is also survived by his close friend and companion Linda Hankins of Springdale, Ark.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Ave., Springdale, Ark., 72762. SPRINGDALE — Somba Sihom, 57, of Springdale, Ark., passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born March 7, 1962 , in Laos to Chanla and Kao Thongkham. She was an optical production worker for Walmart Optical.

She is survived by her husband Bo Sihom; son Mikey Inthavong of Dallas, Texas; daughter Lee Inthavong of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers Sao Thongkham of Hawaii, Kesa Thongkham of Fort Smith, Ark., Keota Thongkham of New Iberia, La., and Phimpa Thongkham of Fort Smith, Ark.; sisters Bouana Carley of Charleston, Ark., Sarah Sengmanivo­ng of Fort Smith, Ark., and Theva Thongkham of Tulsa, Okla.; and three grandchild­ren.

BRANSON, Mo. — Mark Lee Tankersley, age 68, of Branson, Mo., passed away suddenly, Monday, Sept. 9, 2019. He entered this life April 11, 1951, in Fort Smith, Ark., the son of Ben and Alene (Smith) Tankersley.

His parents and wife Lynn Tankers l ey preceded him in death. Arrangemen­ts and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Mark proudly served in the Arkansas Air National Guard for eight years. In his younger days after high school, he was a bull rider. For his entire life he enjoyed following the activities of the Profession­al Bull Riders Associatio­n.

Most of his adult life he was involved in route sales, ranging from chips, milk, ice cream, and soda pop. He was well known and respected by the retail grocers around Northwest Arkansas.

Mark had done some writing motivated by his wife, Lynn Carney Tankersley, who was a prolific writer of short stories and was nationally acclaimed. He was a member of the Ozarks Writers’ Guild.

Mark loved Gospel music and found a purpose in life serving his God and Savior Jesus Christ at Reeds Spring Nazarene church. He loved to teach adult Sunday school.

Mark is survived by son Jeremy (Kina) Tankersley of Elkins, Ark.; brother David ( Kathleen) Tankersley of Elkins, Ark.; grandson Liam Tankersley; and many nieces, nephews, friends and other family.

Two memorial services will be held — 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, at New Hope Church of the Nazarene, 37 Leighs Way, Reeds Spring, Mo., with Pastor Jeff Stull officiatin­g, and 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at Northeast Baptist Church, 2578 Oakland Zion Road, Fayettevil­le, Ark., with Pastor Steve Wireman officiatin­g.
