Chase Family Foundation champions stepped in to offer support for area women’s shelters at the fifth Help the Girls bra and undergarment drive Sept. 26 at the Springdale Country Club.
The donations will go to residents at Peace at Home Family Shelter and the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter. More than 1,000 bras were donated at last year’s event and organizers hope to double that this year.
The group’s next project begins next month as backers collect food for home-bound seniors and their dogs and cats to be distributed during the holidays. Since starting the senior program in 2010, the foundation has distributed some 100,000 pounds of food to more than 2,000 home-bound seniors and their pets.
Those Helping the Girls included Susan Chase and Johnny Bakker, Bridget Schultz, Megan Koontz, Gracen Patten, Sarah Nickell, Whitney Holt, Tammi Sotorske, Andrea Utecht, Dodie Becker, Marlene Nelson, Joanna Peak and Melissa Hutsell.
