ATU has been ranked No. 1 in Arkansas on CollegeNET’s Social Mobility Index five consecutive years through 2018. In the most recent data, ATU ranks among the top 10 percent of all colleges and universities in the United States in providing graduates with a pathway to an enhanced economic standing.
Arkansas Tech is a statewide leader in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education. Students explore intersecting career paths made possible by more than 120 undergraduate degree programs and more than 25 graduate degree options.
ATU has continued a wave of academic innovation with several new degree programs in recent years. These include cultural and geospatial studies, cybersecurity, game and interactive media design, environmental science, electrical engineering with a biomedical option, computer science education, chemistry education and physics education.
A Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice and criminology, a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering and an Associate of Business degree that is stackable in pursuit of the existing Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree debuted in 2018. A degree in applied statistics is scheduled to begin in summer 2020.
ATU recently increased its scholarship budget by $5.5 million in a move consistent with its heritage as a place of opportunity for the people of Arkansas. More than 93 percent of ATU students are Arkansans.
