BENTONVILL­E — Cloetta “Charlene” Annabel, 61, of Bentonvill­e, Ark., passed away Oct. 5, 2019, at her home in Bentonvill­e.

Charlene attended Bentonvill­e schools, was a young mother, and had a broad work career, most recently as a real estate agent.

She was preceded in death by daughter Maria Martinez.

She is survived by her life partner, Troy Juzeler of Bentonvill­e; daughter Michelle Mackey; grandchild­ren Grant and Bryce Mackey; parents Connie and Clois Walker; sisters Janet Ashberger and Dottie Bercher; brother Thomas; along with numerous extended family members.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at Stockdale Moody Funeral Services in Rogers with a visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Those who cannot attend are invited to light a candle for her and send your best thoughts her way.

BENTONVILL­E — Carol Joan LaBrie, age 86, passed away with family by her side Oct. 13, 2019. She was born June 25, 1933, in Lynn, Mass., daughter of Carl and Gladys Askin.

The three moved to Colorado and Carol lived there until she reunited with an early childhood friend and moved back to Massachuse­tts to marry him, Richard Everett LaBrie, and give life to three children. The LaBrie family moved to

Texas and lived there until Carol and Dick’s retirement to Bella Vista, Ark.

Carol’s work life included positions as a bank teller, librarian and mortgage loan officer where she helped people afford new homes. Even though she was a working mother, she made time to sew a lot of her family’s clothes, piece together many quilts, braid many rugs, and lovingly care for three active children. In her retirement, she excelled in her lifelong passion and her many paintings leave us with tangible gifts of her love and creativity.

She was the precious mother of John LaBrie, Joanne West and Janice LaBrie, and dear grandmothe­r of Brenton LaBrie, Steven LaBrie, Hayden LaBrie and Mathew West and great grandmothe­r of Alexander West.

She was preceded in death by husband Richard.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Alice Marie Clark, 70, of Fayettevil­le, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Nov. 25, 1948, in Oakland, Calif., to Richard and Dorothy Reichert Arnold.

Alice lived life to the fullest, loved to dance, and was devoted to her family.

She is survived by children, Kathleen Petty (John), James Clark (Linda), Desiree Stockton (Thomas); grandchild­ren, Crystal, Teresa, Thomas, Ashley, Mikayla, Jamie, Christian; and 15 great-grandchild­ren.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Wilma “Vaughdeen” Clark, 88, of Fayettevil­le, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at North Hills Life Care & Rehab. Vaughdeen was born July 26, 1931, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., to W.D. and Flossie Drake.

She was preceded in death by parents W.D. and Flossie Drake; grandson Matt Clark; son-in-law Bill Stonesifer; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Doris Drake; brothers-inlaw Raymond Mitchell, Jimmy Fraker and Kenneth Clark; and sister-in-law Betty Clark.

Vaughdeen was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. She worked at Southweste­rn Bell Telephone Company and retired after 35 years.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, David Clark; son Larry Clark and wife Jamie; daughter Janice Stonesifer; granddaugh­ter Jodie Doherty and husband Justin; step-granddaugh­ters Tracy Sargent and Laurin Irwin and husband Matt; great-grandchild­ren Jace and Ella Doherty; and step-great-grandchild­ren Hunter Sargent and Noah and Kaleb Irwin.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, at Beard’s Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Ridgeview Baptist Church with Pastor Eric Howerton officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Billie L. McDonald, age 81, of Fayettevil­le passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, in Fayettevil­le. He was born Sept. 10, 1938, in Wheeler, Ark., the son of Andrew and Lucille Thomas McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sue Kate.

He retired as a lineman from SWEPCO and was a member of the Arkansas National Guard for 17 years earning the marksman award. He graduated from Fayettevil­le High School in 1957 and helped take care of Mt. Comfort Cemetery for many years.

He is survived by wife Carolyn; sons Derick McDonald and wife Lisal of Austin, Texas, and Darin McDonald and his wife Debora of West Fork; five grandchild­ren Mary Katherine McDonald, Connor McDonald, Harrison McDonald, Meg McDonald and Blake McDonald; brothers Donnie McDonald of Springdale, Zara Lee McDonald of Nevada, Thomas McDonald of Hindsville and Mark McDonald of Kansas; and sisters Neil Lawrence of Kansas and Sharon Hart of Colorado.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m.6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Sondra Elaine Smith, age 65, of Fayettevil­le passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, in Fayettevil­le. She was born May 22, 1954, in Fayettevil­le the daughter of Albert Stewart and Ada June Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She worked as the city clerk for Fayettevil­le for 16 years and during her time there she was very dedicated to the citizens of Fayettevil­le. She was also a member of the Arkansas Municipal League where she served as an officer while also participat­ing on many committees.

She was an active member of Ridgeview Baptist Church in Fayettevil­le for over 25 years where she dedicated her service to the Children’s Ministry. Sondra was a member of the Gideons Internatio­nal.

During her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved grandchild­ren.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Neil Smith; daughters Angie Kichline and husband Cory of Fayettevil­le and Schara Baldridge and husband Trent of Bentonvill­e; grandchild­ren Ezra Kichline, Ethan Skelton, Avery Kichline, Evan Skelton and Faith Baldridge; father Loren Ray Phillips of Harrison; brother Danny Stewart and wife Susie of Farmington; sister Sharon Reed and husband Mark of Bergman and numerous other family members.

Visitation will be held 5 p.m.7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Ridgeview Baptist Church in Fayettevil­le with burial to follow at Farmington Cemetery.

SPRINGDALE — Robert “Bob” Earl Baker passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, in Springdale. He was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, and married Reba Ann Baker from Springdale on June 9, 1979.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Cecil Baker of Des Moines, Iowa, and sister Dorothy Johnson of Ames, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife; children Dayton Clark (Holly) of Hindsville, Dawn Tannehill (Dwight) of Hulbert, Okla., and Bobby Baker (Vickie) of Bellville, Texas; sisters Jackie Purdy of Harlingen, Texas, and Phyllis Duncan of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchild­ren; six great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Ankeny High School, Bob joined the Navy and served during the Vietnam War. Afterwards, he drove 18-wheel trucks and in most recent years was retired and occupied himself with his woodworkin­g projects.

SPRINGDALE — Maria Cobian, 72, of Springdale passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born Oct. 21, 1946, in the Degollado, Mexico, to Jesus Angel and Maria De Jesus Cervantez.

Maria worked as an inspector at GTA Glass Company. She had a passion for shopping a good sale and was an avid member of St. Raphael Catholic Church.

She was a beautiful mother and loved her family with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Lidia Gomez.

Survivors include husband Alfonso Hernandez Sr. of the home; sons Alfonso Hernandez Jr. and wife Norma of Springdale and Rigoberto Cobian of Springdale; daughter Elvira Cobian and husband Alejandro Herrera of Springdale; brothers Ruben Angel of Chicago and Felipe Angel and wife Isabelle of Chicago; sisters Rosa Palos and husband Casimiro of Springdale and Bertha Pedroza and husband Humberto of Springdale; and grandchild­ren Nathaly, Alexis, Edgar, Jarissa, Maria, Christophe­r, Daniel, Brylee, Xavier and Isabelle.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springdale. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery.
