BOYS THE NEW SCHOOL 56, LIFE WAY CHRISTIAN 36

New School outscored Life Way 22-8 in the second quarter and went on to post the win in the season opener for both schools.

Chase Ammons led New School with 17 points, eight steals and five assists, while Tysen Barbour added 10 points and seven rebounds. Preston Green had 11 points to lead Life Way.

OZARK CATHOLIC 59, OARK 35

The Griffins used a big second quarter to pull away for the easy season-opening win.

Ozark Catholic led only 11-8 after a quarter but outscored Oark 23-9 in the second quarter en route to a 34-17 halftime lead.

Isaac McClinton led all scorers with 20 points for the Griffins, while Jackson Holmes added 16, including three 3-pointers. Ethan McElhaney and Gus Caldwell led the Hornets with seven points each.

FLIPPIN 70, LEAD HILL 45

John Fulton barely missed a double-double Tuesday as Lead Hill fell to Flippin in the Twin Rivers Classic at Norfolk.

Fulton hit a trio of 3-pointers and had nine points to go with his 10 rebounds. Gavin Dickey led the Tigers with 10 points.

VALLEY SPRINGS 60, EUREKA SPRINGS 28

Isaac Ragland led four players in double-figures as the Tigers routed Eureka Springs in the season-opener Tuesday night.

JP Loggins added 13 points for Valley Springs. Trell Trammell and Braydon Carnahan each scored 10.

GIRLS LEAD HILL 52, SHIRLEY 44

Kaya Huebner surpassed the 2,000-career point mark Tuesday night as Lead Hill rallied to defeat Shirley in the Twin Rivers Classic at Norfork.

Huebner scored 17 of her 23 points in the second half as Lead Hill bounced back from a 20-15 halftime deficit. The Lady Tigers outscored Shirley 18-12 in the third quarter to take a 33-32 lead, then outscored the Lady Blue Devils 19-12 over the final 8 minutes.

Huebner, who currently has 2,004 career points, was one of three Lead Hill players in double figures as Lily Norman added 15 and Kelsey Rogers 12.

HAAS HALL-ROGERS 41, THADEN SCHOOL 32

Junior Rachael Keese poured in 21 points to lead the Lady Danes to victory in their inaugural game in program history.

Haas Hall Rogers led 22-16 at halftime and used a 17-5 third-quarter spurt to stretch its lead to 18. Freshman Emma Whitaker chipped in eight points and junior Eden Stobaugh added six.

OARK 39, OZARK CATHOLIC 9

Mary Willis scored 16 points to lead Oark to the season-opening win.

Oark led 28-8 at halftime and cruised to the victory. Mary Doke led Ozark Catholic with three points, and Abigail Perry added a team-high five rebounds.
