Honor Constitution

-

After an onslaught of unacceptable actions from our current commander-in-chief, what can the average person do? I urge every voting citizen to contact their senators and congressmen. Let them know that we can no longer allow this person to represent the United States of America.

In Arkansas so far, our representatives have said nothing about the unacceptable actions of Trump. It is high time that someone from the Republican side of the aisle stood up for the Constitution of the United States and supported the ongoing impeachment inquiry. We need to take action before it’s too late.

Our forefathers built checks and balances into our Constitution just for this type of situation. Unfortunately, the current president does not respect these laws, set up to prevent the holder of the highest office of the land from abusing it for personal and political gain. If Cotton, Boozman and Womack had a backbone among them, they would know how to do the right thing, and vote for impeachment to remove this poor excuse for a leader.

When everyone does their civic duty by letting their representatives know what they want, together we honor the Constitution.

GEORGE IMRIE

Springdale the doctors they sent me to have said I cannot do. Why? Because I did not work in the three quarters prior to applying for disability.

Basically, I can’t get full benefits because I was too disabled to work just before applying, so I only qualify for benefits that are for supplementing part-time workers’ income.

Does this make sense? It is not enough for anyone to live on. I just cannot understand it.

I am expected to get by, with extensive medical expenses, on $771 a month. I am expected to pay my bills, feed myself, and pay my rent with that. I do receive Medicaid, which covers about half my monthly medical costs I have due to my disabilities, and I get $85 in SNAP.

How does this make sense? Where is the human factor in all this? Why can they not look at people’s cases as individual cases, and give benefits accordingly? That would be logic.

I have been whittled down to numbers, not need, not fact, not human. Where is the compassion? HEATHER MEADOWS
