ARKANSAS vs. ALABAMA: HOW WE SEE IT

-

CLAY HENRY, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

Playing hard will be the measuring stick this week. Maintaining solid effort is the essence of coaching. It shouldn’t be hard to get effort when you play against the No. 1 team, but the talent difference will be massive in the trenches. The Tide has great backs and receivers, too. Alabama, 42-10.

DUDLEY E. DAWSON, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

If I thought Alabama head coach Nick Saban would take my call, I would have dialed him up to see what my prediction should be, because he is going to be able to name the score. So I’ll just guess. Alabama, 55-3.

HARRY KING, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

The disparity in talent is so large that the No. 1 team in the nation can take the Razorbacks in stride and still win by 30 or more. Alabama, 45-13.

SCOTTIE BORDELON, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

Nick Saban does not expect Tua Tagovailoa to play against Arkansas after suffering a high ankle sprain vs. Tennessee. That means the Tide will turn to running back Najee Harris early and often and attempt to overpower the Razorbacks, who rank 13th in the SEC in run defense through seven games. Alabama, 35-7.

JOHN NABORS, THE MORNING RUSH

Even with Tua being out for Alabama, backup Mac Jones steps in and makes short work of the reeking Razorbacks. Alabama, 56-13.

ALYSSA ORANGE, PIG TRAIL NATION

Tennessee was able to put up 13 points on Alabama, and made it a competitive game for a bit. But it looked a lot better than Arkansas on both sides of the ball. ‘Bama might be without Tua, but that won’t slow it down. A win for Arkansas would be staying injury-free. Alabama, 49-10.

MATT JONES, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

No doubt, Alabama will have a quarterback ready against the Razorbacks, and the Crimson Tide have the line play and skill players to win without their best player. This is probably conservative in light of the Arkansas-Auburn outcome, but influenced by Mac Jones’ shakiness off the bench. Alabama, 34-9.

BART POHLMAN, THE HOG POD

Even without Tua Tagovailoa, beating Alabama is still a tall task for the Razorbacks. And the way this season is going, the streak of misery against the Tide will continue. There’s just too much talent in Tuscaloosa. Alabama, 38-14.

SETH CAMPBELL, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

Arkansas has to play the Alabama schools backto-back. The results of the games will look similar, too. Alabama, 42-14.

TOMMY CRAFT, THE MORNING RUSH

The ankle injury with Tua could take one of the best players in college football off the field, but Alabama is still Alabama. The Hogs do need to show the ability to pass the ball this week. Alabama, 44-9.

CHIP SOUZA, NWA DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE

Tua not playing? Doesn’t matter. Arkansas is not in Bama’s league. I’m not sure what league they are in actually, but definitely not this one. Alabama 55-7.
