BENTONVILL­E — Linda Hudson, 59, passed away on Feb. 29, 2020, in Bentonvill­e. She was born on May 8, 1960, in Los Angeles, Calif., to the late Joseph Duffy and Marie Streeby. Linda was married for almost 30 years to the love of her life, Henry.

Linda was an animal lover who enjoyed traveling. She also loved arts and crafts. Linda would frequent thrift stores and, of course, attend the War Eagle craft fair every year. She was great at scrapbooki­ng and put together many albums for her family to enjoy.

She was preceded in death by her father; beloved grandmothe­r, Olive Duffy, brother, Joe Duffy and her two beloved dogs, Molly and Betsy.

Linda is survived by her husband, Henry of Bentonvill­e; daughters, Chandra Taylor (fiancé, Joseph Martin) of Bentonvill­e and Jackie Bush (Brandon) of Springfiel­d, Mo.; brother, Jimmy Duffy of Nevada; sisters, Colleen Duffy and Barbara Robinson, both of Nevada; sister-in-law, Joyce Huse of Bentonvill­e; grandchild­ren, Triston Taylor, Brooklynn Taylor and Kaitlynn Taylor; many extended family and friends; and her cat babies, Ollie, Felix and Leo.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 11 a.m. in Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonvill­e with inurnment to follow at Bentonvill­e Cemetery. People are welcome to come visit with the family before the service starting at 10:30 a.m.

FAYETTEVIL­LE —

Stephen (Steve) McClelland Lovett, 76, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., passed away on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at the Circle of Life: Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Ark.

He was a lifelong resident of Star City, Ark., and most recently, a 12-year resident of Fayettevil­le, Ark. Steve

was married to Sharon Lynn (Brown) Lovett for 48 years. They adopted a daughter, Lindsey Louise in 1978. He was a farmer in Grady, Ark., for 41 years at S & L Farms. He retired in 2008 and moved to Fayettevil­le to be closer to his daughter and grandchild­ren.

His first year in Fayettevil­le, Steve joined the Watch D.O.G.S. program at his grandson’s school, Root Elementary, where he greeted students every morning as they arrived on campus. This volunteer position quickly expanded from greeter to Steve doing everything from making copies to providing coats for children who were in need. Steve held his position as a Watchdog Dad very close to his heart and impacted the lives of children and adults on a daily basis with his kindness and joy.

Steve graduated from Star City High School in 1961. He attended the University of Arkansas in Fayettevil­le and graduated in 1965, after which he returned to Star City to take on a leadership role at his family farm. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity, the Arkansas Alumni Associatio­n and the Razorback Foundation. Steve and his family were chosen as Lincoln County Farm Family of the Year.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Scott Lovett, Jr.; his mother, Mary Louise McClelland (Lovett); and his sister, Carolyn Jean (Lovett) Carder.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lynn (Brown) Lovett; his daughter, Lindsey Louise Lovett Estes; his brother, Thomas Scott Lovett III; his sister, Susan Lovett Brown (David); and his grandchild­ren, Zachary Stephen Estes and Zoe Elizabeth Estes.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon–2 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Griffin Funeral Home in Star City, Ark., followed by the funeral at 2 p.m. Bro. Elwin Ollar will officiate. Burial at Drake Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s are Jack Jackson, James West, Jimmie Don McKissack, Dwight Fugate, Paul Johnson and Pat McGowan.

Cartwright II died Feb. 29, 2020. He was born March 7, 1940, in Santa Barbara, Calif., to Von and Evelyn Cartwright. Von is survived by sons, daughters and numerous grandchild­ren. ROGERS — Phillip Jordan Howard of Rogers, Ark., born Oct. 5, 1982, in Rogers, Ark., the son of Johnny and Janice (Pharis) Howard, departed this life Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at the age of 37.

Phillip enjoyed the outdoors by going hunting, fishing and mountain biking. He loved animals especially his two dogs Woodrow and Stella. Phillip loved spending time with his family and those he worked with at Multi-Craft Contractor­s.

Phillip is survived by his parents; brother, Tim (Jennifer) Howard of Green Forest; grandmothe­r, Joyce Pharis; uncles and aunts, Larry and Linda Newberry of Green Forest, Terry Howard, Cheryl (Doug) Cole of Harrison, Ark., Charles and Peggy Pharis of Little Rock, Harold (Christine) Davis of Fayettevil­le, Kayla Wilson, John and Diane Wilson, Justin (Jen) Wilson and Fallon Ballard; nieces, Victoria (Jorge) Rameriz and Adlyn Mae Howard; nephews Cody (Rebecca) Howard, Cody Wilson, Jaden Wilson, Gavin Dwyer and Zydon Ballard; several cousins and many friends.

ROGERS — Lavon’te Leigh Jackson, 23, of Rogers died Feb. 24 in Rogers. He was born June 9, 1996, in San Bernardino, Calif., and raised in Northwest Arkansas.

Lavon’te was a high school football star, enjoyed academics, music, art and track. Most of all, he loved his daughters.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothe­r, Janet Leigh Jolly.

Survivors include his parents, Angela Jolly, Arnold Jackson Jr., and April Jackson; two daughters, Anyiah and Nena; five brothers, Leslie, Gage, Matthew, Nathaniel and Elijah; four sisters, April, Colleen, and Rebecca Jackson, and Casjahwa Alexander; many nieces and nephews; and his biological father, Robert Alexander.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Gravette, followed by a funeral at 12 noon. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery in Rogers.

RUSSELLVIL­LE — Barbara Hudlow, age 89, of Russellvil­le died March 1, 2020, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. She was born March 8, 1930, at Atkins to O.A. and Esther McAnulty Norris.

She enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Hudlow; three brothers, Eugene Norris, Eulus Norris and Kenneth Norris; and three sisters, Ina Jean Wiley, Illa Mae Nowlin and Betty McCulley.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Charlotte Hudlow of Rogers; a daughter and sonin-law, Diana and Mike Lewis of Russellvil­le; four grandchild­ren, Andrea (Marshal) Watson, Michael (Amber) Smith, Bryan (Caty) Smith and Kenny (Lauren) Smith; five great-grandchild­ren, Ashlynn and Jaxton Watson, Colby, Joshua and Kaleigh Smith; one great-great-granddaugh­ter, Elizabeth Smith; two sisters, Sue Eddleman and Linda Hamm; a brother, Larry Norris and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Townsell officiatin­g. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellvil­le. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-7 p.m., at the funeral home.

WINSLOW — Margie Ruth McGaugh Stonesifer, age 88, of Winslow, Ark., passed away on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at the Arkansas Veterans Home in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

Margie was born near St. Paul, Ark., to Hester Marie Ogden and was the oldest of five children. She attended West Fork High School. Ray and Margie were married on Sept. 7, 1950, and establishe­d their home near Brentwood, Ark., surrounded by their families.

Ray preceded Margie in death in 2003.

Margie retired from Shakespear­e in Fayettevil­le and then went back to work in the West Fork School System where she was able to be around her grandchild­ren and share in their daily accomplish­ments. She was a loving mother and a ray of sunshine to all those around her.

Also preceding her in death was a son, Billy Ray Stonesifer and a brother, Chester McGaugh.

Margie is survived by her children, Donna Bloyed (Gilbert) of Fayettevil­le, Ark., Patty Cater of Van Buren, Ark., Betty Stonesifer of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; a daughter-in-law, Janice Stonesifer of Farmington, Ark.; brothers, Pleasant David McGaugh of Marble Falls, Texas, Franklin McGaugh of West Fork, Ark.; a sister, Mary Distler of Annapolis, Md.; six grandchild­ren; eight great-grandchild­ren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday, at Nelson Berna. Margie will be laid to rest next to Ray in Woolsey Cemetery.
