Respect is called for

-

Re Paul Krugman: I really enjoy some of the guest and syndicated columnists, but this man of course writes for The New York Times, which I believe is one of the most biased newspapers in the country. I am always flattered by people who talk about democracy who have done nothing to serve our country besides open their mouths and give us opinions on how we should vote, live and work.

I don’t think anyone today with this crisis wants to be in the president’s shoes. He is trying his best to keep the country together. I am not sure why Krugman won a Nobel prize, but someone on that committee must have seen some redeeming quality that led to his award. Lately it seems the Nobel committee has given awards to people that quite frankly don’t pass the test for that award.

I for one am tired of being housebound, but will comply till this crisis subsides and we get on our way back to some normal existence where I don’t have to hear about the virus 24 hours a day. We need to give our office of president the respect it deserves, just like we did when Obama was president. It doesn’t matter what side you are on, the office demands respect. I personally thought Obama did nothing but learn how to play golf while he was president, but I still respected the office and would fight for our country no matter who is president if called upon. As far as democracy goes, we are a republic first, and our way of life will survive somehow if we make the right choices. Yes, let me get this out of the way. I am a deplorable independent voter.
