Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

Paper launches new obituary section today

-

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette introduces a new section in Sunday editions containing all the obituaries for the week. This is section K of today’s paper.

Sunday’s obituaries, plus the obituaries from the preceding six days, will publish in the section every week. Obituaries published Monday through Saturday will continue to appear in the Northwest Arkansas section on page 2B. All obituaries will be available on our website at nwaonline.com.

“We realize that many readers want to have printed copies of the obituaries of their loved ones as keepsakes,” said Brent Powers, president of the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

“But as we move to digital publication only for our Monday through Saturday editions, those notices wouldn’t be available in print. So we created this Sunday section so that all the obituaries appear in print once a week.”

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is in the process of converting to digital publication six days a week. All editions of the newspaper will publish online through the paper’s tablet and smartphone app and on its website. However, delivery of the Monday through Saturday print editions will end in Benton, Washington, Madison and Carroll counties later this year.

The Sunday paper will continue to be printed and delivered to subscribers.

The digital replica version of the daily newspaper is available to subscribers online and through the app and at nwaonline.com. The replica appears exactly like the printed newspaper and is organized in the same way. The digital replica includes features such as all color photos, additional photo galleries and videos, extra digital-only pages, easily enlarged type, interactive puzzles and much more.
