FAYETTEVILLE — David Frederick Stebbins

-

lived a full and wonderful life until facing a fouryear battle with a painful illness, passing away Saturday, June 13, 2020, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Dec. 7, 1946, in Hanover, N.H., to the late Stuart (Jack) and Phoebe Storrs Stebbins.

David is survived by wife Jennifer; children Samuel and Lillian of Fayetteville; sisters Ann Cioffi and Pat Moore; and brother John Stebbins. He also leaves two nieces and three nephews.

David graduated from Hanover High School in 1965 and went on to graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Mass. He enlisted in the Army in 1968 and served until 1971. David showed dedication in all that he did. He never missed a single day of his job at the Dartmouth Bookstore, where he worked in the music department for 27 years.

The bookstore was owned by his mother, Phoebe Storrs Stebbins, and it’s also where he met his wife, Jennifer. After the bookstore was sold, David worked as a lab assistant at Glycofi/Merck in Lebanon, N.H. His incredible ability to fix anything made it a great fit for him until he retired in April 2014.

David was an outdoorsman. Not the hunter-gatherer type, but the gentle, nature loving sort. His family shares fond memories of time spent together outside hiking, biking, fishing, ice skating, etc. David was a quiet person who showed love through action. Yard work, home improvements and making burgers and beans for his family every Saturday night spoke for him.

He will be missed for his calm presence, kind way of being, and truly unique character. A private service will be held in New Hampshire. To leave an online condolence, visit www.mooresfuneral chapel.com.
