ELKINS — Mrs. Cleta Neal Lawson,

age 93, of Elkins passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayettevil­le. She was born March 3, 1927, in Wesley, Ark., daughter of the late Elora Earnest Neal and Gertrude Duncan Neal.

Cleta was married to Seldon Ezra Lawson, private first class, Army of United States, on Nov. 15, 1946.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, grandson Patrick Neal Faubus, great granddaugh­ter Emily Renae Hoskins, brothers Conley Neal and Arthur Neal and sister Melva Kenney.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Teresa and Thurman Hatch of Elkins, Randy and Pearlene of Elkins and Sheila and Russ Haskins of Huntsville; 11 grandchild­ren and 15 great-grandchild­ren.

Cleta was a member of Tuttle Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was busy raising children and volunteeri­ng at the church by cleaning it weekly, preparing the communion and teaching Sunday school for many years.

She enjoyed sewing for family and friends, especially creating those matching outfits. If she wasn’t tending to her garden or babysittin­g her beloved grandchild­ren and a few great grandkids you could find her in front of the TV cheering on the Razorback basketball team as their most loyal fan.

She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Willard Walker Hospice House who provided invaluable loving care to Cleta.

Viewing will be Friday, June 19, 1-4:30 p.m. at Moore’s Chapel in Fayettevil­le. Please observe CDC rules of 6-feet social distancing and wear masks at all times indoor. Graveside service will be Saturday, June 20 at 10 a.m. at Wesley Cemetery.
