WEST FORK — Debbie Sue Rodgers,
age 60, of West Fork, Ark., passed from this life Friday, June 19, 2020. She was born July 18, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., a daughter of the late John Summers and Mary Pledger Summers. Also preceding her in death was a sister Theresa Summers.
Debbie served the area through Northwest Health Systems and Willow Creek Women’s Hospital for over 40 years as an obstetrical nurse, mentor and advocate for highrisk mothers and babies. She led the development of the regions first maternal-fetal transport service, coordinated, and led the first perinatal loss program in Northwest Arkansas (SHARE) and elevated the standard of care for all mothers and infants.
Survivors are her husband Larry Rodgers; sons Keith Rodgers of El Dorado, Ark., Eric Rodgers of West Fork, Ark.; a sister Jonna Summers of Fayetteville, Ark.; a granddaughter Michelle Rodgers of El Dorado, Ark., and a great-granddaughter Zetta Rodgers of El Dorado, Ark.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, at Mineral Springs Cemetery near West Fork, Ark. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Moore’s Funeral Chapel. All covid-19 protocol requirements will be followed.
Pallbearers will be fellow nurses, Christine Picarelli, RNC, Hollie David RN, Melissa Stewart, APN, Hope Hilty, RN, Regina Welch, RN and Roxy Castillo, RN. All medical personnel attending the service are asked to wear their scrubs or uniforms in honor of her career.
