PRAIRIEGRO­VE—Robert Arthur Schube,

age 78, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, from Prairie Grove’s countrysid­e. He was born July 23, 1941, in Sandusky County, Ohio, to John Clinton and Melissa Kathryn (Strayer) Schube.

Robert worked at many jobs in his life, including as a property appraiser in Houston, Texas, but he enjoyed semi-truck driving the best. He also enjoyed singing and playing the trumpet in a band at various night clubs.

More recently, he loved playing Santa Claus at several events within the community. He volunteere­d at the Christmas Tree lighting and Kite Festival in Cane Hill, Ark. He delivered food for the elderly for a food bank. He loved helping others and never hesitated to help when asked.

Robert was a member of the Washington County Extension Homemaker Club (Sky Hill). He volunteere­d for numerous activities within the organizati­on, one being security at the Washington County Fair.

He and Gwen loved to travel and took many trips.

Robert attended Clyde Community Church for 14 years, where he loved to sing solos. He participat­ed in the annual Christmas play and Vacation Bible School.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Gwen Schube, who he loved and cared for dearly; children Bonnie, Kim, Pam, Robert Jr. and Jackie by his first wife, son Anthony by his second wife and daughter Dauphine Gill. He was a loving stepdad to Forrest Benton (Amy), Wendy Wilhite and William Harding; caring grandpa to Kimberly Ann and Howard III, and new grandpa to Tammy and Andy; and uncle to Brandy Jackson-Davis and grandniece Layla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Jeffery.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are by Roberts & Hart Funeral Home of Westville, Okla. Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Clyde Community Church, Clyde, Ark. Burial service followed at Reese Cemetery, Prairie Grove, Ark.
