NEW SCHOOL

The New School Board of Trustees appointed Stacey Sturner to a board seat in June. Sturner will serve with 12 other trustees as advisers to the school’s administra­tors and as the school’s governing body.

Sturner is a staff attorney and project manager for the Northwest Arkansas Council. She is also a board member for Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families. Sturner and her husband, Jan, have two sons, one who graduated this year from The New School and one who will be a sophomore at the school this fall.

The New School is a private, independen­t school with about 400 students in preschool through grade 12.

EMPORIA STATE

Bailey Bardrick of Rogers was among more than 900 Emporia State University undergradu­ate students recognized for academic honors in the spring 2020 semester.

Bardrick was named to the University Honor Roll.

To qualify for the University Honor Roll, students earned a minimum 3.80 semester grade point average in at least 12 graded hours.

Located in Emporia, Kan., Emporia State University offers more than 200 academic programs in the School of Business, College of Liberal

Arts and Sciences, School of Library and Informatio­n Management and The Teachers College.

MISSOURI S&T

This spring, more than 1,100 students received degrees from Missouri University of Science and Technology. The graduates were honored during a virtual celebratio­n May 16. An in-person commenceme­nt ceremony is expected at a later date.

Among those graduating were Ava Stroud, Fayettevil­le, bachelor of science, psychology, summa cum laude; and Chandra Hubbs, Springdale, bachelor of science, engineerin­g management, cum laude.

Founded in 1870 as the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, Missouri University of Science and Technology is located in Rolla.

HARDING UNIVERSITY

More than 800 students received diplomas and will be recognized as Harding University graduates during a virtual ceremony on Aug. 15.
