FAYETTEVIL­LE — Max Traphagan,

age 90, of Fayettevil­le, passed from this life Aug. 6, 2020. He was born May 14, 1930, in Ottawa, Kan., to Horace and Ruby Day Traphagan.

Max was a veteran of the United States Navy and attended South Hill Church of Christ. He enjoyed RC model airplanes and was a garden railroad enthusiast.

Max will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, Papaw and G Paw.

Max is survived by his wife Sula; three sons, Joe Max Traphagan and his wife Zoe of Centennial, Colo., Kip Traphagan and his wife Carol of Fayettevil­le and Ky Traphagan and his wife Carol of Rogers; his daughter, Malia and her husband Bill Hooten of Prairie Grove; nine grandchild­ren, Josh, Max, Courtnee, Sky, Gatlin, Shea, Kinzey, Sage and Alex; five great-grandchild­ren, Meredith, Kade, Brooklyn, Gunner and Halen; and one great-great-granddaugh­ter, Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Thelma, Jane, Bill and Margaret.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at Moore’s Chapel in Fayettevil­le. Burial will follow with United States Navy Honors at Fayettevil­le National Cemetery.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.

The family would like to extend their great appreciati­on to the staff at Willard Walker Hospice Home for the kindness and care that was given to Max and his family.
