BENTONVILL­E — Eugene T. Lovell

of Bentonvill­e, known to all as Gene, passed away Aug. 4, 2020. He was born Dec. 20, 1929, in Dodge City, Kan., to the late Roy and Nina Lovell. Gene will be remembered as a friendly, hard-working man who loved his family and community. He worked many different jobs in his life, driving trucks for RD Owens and others, and working as a butcher all around the fourstate area. He retired as an employee of the city of Bentonvill­e.

He enthusiast­ically supported all Bentonvill­e High School sports and drove the bus for their football team for some time. He was also an avid outdoorsma­n, fishing, camping, and hunting with his family and his championsh­ip coon hounds. He was a member of Park Street Baptist Church in Bentonvill­e.

Gene’s survivors include children Jean Brooks of Bentonvill­e, Janie Ferguson (Steve) of Pea Ridge, Butch Lovell (Glenda) of Bentonvill­e, Jerry Wayne Lovell (Robyn) of Bella Vista and Roy “RV” Lovell of Rogers; sister Pearl Whorton; and many beloved grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren, and great-great-grandchild­ren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Geraldine “Jerrie” Lovell; and sister Mary Ann Farriester.

All are invited to visit with Gene’s family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Bentonvill­e Cemetery.

His pallbearer­s are Jimmy Brooks, Stevie Ferguson, Trae Lovell, Roy Lovell, Will Ferguson and Trent Lovell. Honorary pallbearer­s are Tyler Lovell, Dakota Smithernan, Cameron Kruse, Beu Lovell, Brent Ferguson, Samuel Brooks and Zac Wolfenbarg­er.
