“NO DREAM” Jeff Rosenstock Polyvinyl Record Co.

Jeff Rosenstock surprised fans with the release of his incredible fourth album, “NO DREAM,” which came without warning May 20 and has already received countless mid-year list accolades from the likes of Stereogum, The Ringer, The AV Club, Consequence of Sound and more. Newly settled in Los Angeles after a lifetime on the East Coast (namely Brooklyn by way of Long Island), Rosenstock recorded “NO DREAM” with Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Hard Girls, Joyce Manor) at Oakland’s Atomic Garden, and even took on mixing duties alongside Shirley for the first time. Opting to stay off the computer “even more than usual” and record to tape with outboard gear, the result is a lived-in sound that gives each song its own individual voice and organic energy. “NO DREAM” is available for free download via Quote Unquote Records, with all donations going to Food Not Bombs and will be out on vinyl Aug. 21.

“Rise” Voices of Service CAMMO Music

Voices of Service (VOS) is a vocal quartet comprising two retired and two active members of the U.S. Army: Caleb Green, Ron Henry, Christal Rheams and Jason Hanna respectively. This foursome placed fifth in season 14 of the popular talent competition show “America’s Got Talent,” and they released their debut EP “Rise” on July 17. The EP features the group’s interpretations of popular tunes, as well as their new, original song, “Raise Your Voice.” As Hanna notes, it’s “music that you can feel down to your soul.” Voices of Service are a part of the nonprofit Center for American Military Music Opportunities (CAMMO). For the past seven years, they have utilized their performances to increase awareness of the therapeutic impact that performing, as well as listening to music, can have on service men and women who are coping with post-traumatic stress and other invisible/visible wounds.
