ROGERS — WillieMaxine Earls

-

(nee Stanphill) was 90 years young. She was born June 24, 1930, in Briggs, Okla., as the middle child of Sam and Rosie Mae Stanphill.

She had four sisters and four brothers, and is survived by sister Bobby Jean Henry of Davenport, Okla. Sisters Nora, Martha and Mary Lou and brothers Cecil, Tommy, Waymon and Delbert predeceased her.

After she completed the Boudinot Community School, twice, her family relocated to a sharecropper farm on the White River just outside of Monte Ne, Ark., where she met Carl J. Earls. They were married Dec. 18, 1948. During their 71-year marriage, Carl and Willie never lived more than 10 miles from that farm. Carl still lives adjacent to Horseshoe Bend on Beaver Lake — within sight of where they met.

Three children survive Willie: Janice, Curtis and Garry ,as well as daughtersin-law Jill Webb and Myra Lingle, who all live in Northwest Arkansas. She and Carl also have six grandchildren – Mike Earls (wife Rachel Avants) of Rogers, Ty Earls (wife Amy Coffee) of Kingsport Tenn., Jon Earls of St. Louis, Mo., Scott Davenport, Ryan Davenport and Abby Davenport (husband Zach Falkenberry), all of Rogers. Four great-grandchildren – Erin, Lillian and Kyler Earls (husband Adrien Walker), who live in northeast Tennessee and Hallie Earls of Dallas Texas, also survive her. Willie has numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately call her “Uncle Bill.”

Willie worked at Daisy Manufacturing more than 29 years where she assembled air pistols. These products still entertain young people around the world. She remained active in the Daisy retirees association.

Willie is also survived by her bowling friends – Bobby (her sister), Lisa (niece), Hazel, Mavis, Georgia and Betty. They traveled with her every year all over the United States to tournaments. Willie held garage sales and collected aluminum cans to pay for the trips.

Willie was an avid and early Facebook fanatic survived by hundreds of Facebook friends and extended family. She maintained correspondence with friends and family all over the United States and as far away as Australia. Facebook was the first thing she did in the morning and the last thing she did at night. She was very vocal about her political opinions on Facebook much to her grandchildren’s delight.

Willie insisted her love of puzzles — jigsaw, wordswith-friends, crossword, and any game — kept her sharp. She always passed the mental acuity test with greater than 98% score.

She fiercely loved her children, grand children, and great grand children as well as her extended family of nieces and nephews, her bowling team, fellow Daisy retirees, and Facebook friends, even the Trumpers. In return, they loved her back — even more. Willie made the world a better place. She made a difference in the lives of many. She will be missed.
