SPRINGDALE — Mrs. Blanche M. Rader Liddell

died peacefully due to complications of Alzheimer’s at Willard Walker Hospice home on Sept. 3, 2020, in Fayetteville, Ark., at age 87. Blanche is survived by brother Kenneth Rader of Prairie Grove; daughters Carol Fincher (Chuck) and Barbara Wood (Rick), both of Springdale, Ark.; grandchildren Christie Martin (Matt), Micah Warren (Kim), Cassie Watts (Jonathan) and Grayson Warren; step-grandchildren Alisha Wood and Nicole Dewoody (Caleb); great-grandchildren Scarlett Martin, Caleb Martin, Elias Warren, Koleson Watts, Ambriella Watts and Oliver Warren; and step-great-grandchildren Gillian Wood and Rivers Dewoody.

Blanche was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years; parents; sister Velma Liddell; and brothers Lonnie Rader and Charles Rader.

Blanche Marie was born on June 22, 1933, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Arden and Ethel Rader.

Blanche graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1952. Blanche married Carle Liddell, her high school sweetheart, in 1952.

Blanche attended and graduated from Fayetteville School of Business. After her husband’s service in the Army, they relocated to Baltimore, Md. After the birth of their first daughter, Carol, they moved back to Fayetteville to be near other family.

She was a homemaker, stay-at-home mom and babysat other children in her home. Later she worked for the Northwest Arkansas Times as a proofreader and at the NWA Vending company. She enjoyed sewing, camping, gardening and spending time with her family. Carle tended their large garden and she worked at canning all of the food.

She entered several handsewn items she created in the Washington County Fair, winning her several blue ribbons. She enjoyed her yearly mini vacation trips with her daughters and their husbands. She loved being a homemaker and was a nurturing caregiver to her own mother in her later years.

A special thanks goes out to her nephews, Steve Liddell, Stacey Liddell and Scott Liddell for their continued love, support and help to Blanche and the family.

Because of covid-19 and for the safety of her friends and family, a celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date, when it’s safe for all family and friends to gather, share stories and pictures. A family burial of her ashes will also be scheduled for a later date, as well.

The family will update when the date is, by posting in the newspaper or by word of mouth.
