ROGERS — Nicholas Allen Schemerhorn,

-

37, passed away Sept. 4, 2020, in Rogers, Ark., He was born Dec. 19, 1982, in Rogers, Ark.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, William & June Gaddy and Monroe and Bonnie Schemerhorn. Also preceding him in death was his best friend, Jeremiah Bone.

Nick went to Rogers High School and developed a love of music, highly encouraged and shared with his dad. He played guitar, drums, and piano. Hobbies included watching and participating in MMA fighting, with participating coming at a high price when he broke his neck a few years ago.

Nothing held him back, though, and his only regret was that he couldn’t fight anymore with beloved Kru (Wes Hill).

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Mitzi and Kurt Bird of Rogers, Ark., and John and Karen Schemerhorn, of Collinsville, Ill.; siblings Michael (Shalena) Schemerhorn of Bentonville, Ark., Jamie (Brian) Wolfe of Belleville, Ill., Johnathan (Krista) Schemerhorn of Clayton, Ill.; children Marissa Schemerhorn, Brekain Schemerhorn, Caleb Schemerhorn, Teagan Schuckman and Angel Ford; nephews Elijah Schemerhorn, Ethan Schemerhorn, Wyatt Schemerhorn, Parker Wolfe and Jack Wolfe; nieces Lily Schemerhorn and Brittany Burgess; aunts Sheila (Brian) Piha, Jeanenne Gaddy-Kooker and Wanda Doss; the mothers of his children Katesha Schemerhorn and Melinda Ford; as well as many dear cousins and friends.

Nick’s greatest joy was his children. He loved being a dad and adored them all. He passed on his love of music and cooking. Memories of camping out on the living room floor for movie night and game night will stay with them for a long time.

Nick loved the Lord, and had a big heart and a huge capacity for love. He would give his last nickel to anyone that needed it and always available for anyone that needed him.

He was the kindest person ever. Always ready with a smile, a hug, and a movie quote. There is a big hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, but we know we will see him again someday.

There will be a celebration of life Sept. 26, 2020, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 626 W Olive St, Rogers, Ark. Nick will be laid to rest at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Ark., at a later time. Suggested memorials: Freedom Seekers Ministries (freedomseekersministry.org) and Souls Harbor (soulsharbornwa.org).
