ROGERS — Ronald Dean Nichols,
77, of Rogers passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2020. He was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Columbia, Mo., to Ewen Nichols and Opal Nichols.
Following high school he proudly served in the Army. While home on leave he met the love of his life, Dora, and after three dates they eloped, got married and recently celebrated their 55th anniversary.
Ronald was a third generation painter and for 40 years a contractor who taught his children the value of work by having them involved in the business from an early age. He became a Christian at 18 and lived his life to be an example to others.
He was preceded by his father, Ewen Nichols; mother Opal Dale and grandparents Minnie and Emerson Lichlenthlaler.
Survivors include adoring wife Dora Nichols; second mother Mildred Nichols of Waverly, Mo.; sons Nick Nichols of Bentonville and Nathan Nichols of Fayetteville; daughter Leslie Jurgensmeyer of Rogers; brother Wayne Nichols of Warrensburg, Mo.; sister Carla Schubach of Carrollton, Mo.; grandchildren Elizabeth and Mackenzie Nichols, Courtney Harris, Anna Bagby, Natalie Price, Ashley Porter, Grant Price, Ben, David, Colby, Zachary and Timothy Nichols; five great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and dear friends.
Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. and his funeral at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home, www.RollinsFuneral.com .
