RUSSELLVILLE — Cathy Gardner Core,

68, of Russellville died Oct. 9, 2020, at her home. She was born Jan. 23, 1952, in Russellville to James Silas and Jimmie Mary Sexton Henry.

She was an active member of St. John Catholic Church and worked for the Department of Human Services serving children and families.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include husband Jerry Core; son Kiah Henry Gardner of Fayetteville; daughter Leah Gardner of Lithia Springs, Ga.; step-sons Matt (Shelley) Core of Reno, Nev., and Marc (Diedra) Core of Bakersfield, Calif.; step-daughters Lisa Core of Oakland, Calif., and Mina (Shannon) Core of Magnolia; brother and sister-in-law Tommy and Jan Henry of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren Avery Anne Gardner, Jamison Kiah Gardner, Michael R. Sneddon, Lisa Rose Core and Brandon Core; and cousins Marian Tucker, James Tucker, Anna Lee Wilson and Thomas Wilson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at Oakland Cemetery with Father Ernest Hardesty officiating and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamison Kiah Gardner, Jon Kirby, Jay Weatherford, Grayson Chambers, Chris Robinet and James Tucker.
