UA opens intrasquad scrimmage
Cayden Wallace hit a three-run home run and scored four runs for the black team in a 15-8 victory over the Red squad in the first game of the University of Arkansas’ intrasquad World Series on Friday at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville.
Wallace went 3 for 3 with 2 walks and had 5 RBI. Ethan Bates had 3 RBI, and Cason Tollett had 2 hits. The Black team had 8 hits, drew 9 walks and was hit by a pitch 4 times. Connor Noland struck out 5 in 22/ innings for the Black while
3 allowing 7 hits and 5 runs. Evan Taylor got the victory with 12/ 3 innings in relief. Ryan Costeiu took the loss for the Red.
Cullen Smith, Braydon Webb, Brady Stevens and Zack Gregory each had two hits for the Red.
