LITTLE FLOCK — Rev. Clifford LeRoy Palmer,

95, of Little Flock passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020. He was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Palmyra, Neb., to the late Lloyd Burdette Palmer and Katie Dee Whitehead Palmer.

Cliff proudly served in the Navy during WWII as an anti-aircraft gunner aboard five ships, operated in all theaters of war and circumnavi­gated the globe multiple times.

Shortly after discharge, he met Mary Elizabeth Stubblefie­ld of Bentonvill­e, was soon married and shared 72 years with the love of his life, who survives.

Other survivors include daughter Cheryl Ames (Phillip) of Rogers; son Steve Palmer (Teresa) of Cassville, Mo.; grandchild­ren Briana Mueller (Garrick) of Oklahoma, Colby Palmer of Lowell, Seth Ames (Lauren) of Centerton and Caitlyn Palmer of Cassville; great-grandchild­ren Drew Ames, Emma Kate Ames, Aubrey Conrad, Megan Mueller, Abbigail Palmer-Lee and Maya Palmer; numerous extended family members, church associates and dear friends.

Rev. Palmer attended the University of Arkansas before graduating from Ouachita Baptist University and continued his studies at Southweste­rn Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He pastored several churches in Oklahoma and Arkansas as well as serving in various denominati­onal positions. Additional­ly, he participat­ed in numerous evangelist­ic conference­s, state assemblies, in crusades to Africa, the Philippine­s and as a speaker at the Internatio­nal Congress on Revival in Salzburg, Austria.

For 16 years he served as pastor of First Baptist Church of Springdale, overseeing one of the 50 fastest growing churches in the United States and establishe­d Shiloh Christian School. He later served as pastor of First Baptist Church of Centerton and interim pastor of churches in Euless, Texas, and Fort Smith. Cliff continued to teach a Sunday school class until he was 90.
