FAYETTEVILLE — Jim Dae Bowerman,
79, of Fayetteville; died Friday, Dec. 1 1 , 2020, at home. He was born Friday, Dec. 20, 1940, at Fayetteville; to Enoch L. and Pauline Vaughan Bowerman.
Jim married Hazel J. Vanhook on Saturday, Oct. 8, 1966, and together they were parents to three children. He was a dedicated and loyal employee, for 30 years, to the Springdale branch of the Arkansas Department of Highway Transportation until his retirement. Jim never knew a stranger. He was an excellent father and a green thumb gardener.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, and his parents.
He is survived by one son, Kevin Bowerman of Fayetteville; two daughters, Kristi Bowerman- Jones of Fayetteville; and Leah Phillips of Virginia Beach, Va.; 11 grandchildren; six brothers, Jack Bowerman of Colorado, Joe Bowerman, Con Bowerman, Quinton Bowerman, Pat Bowerman and Enoch Bowerman, all of Fayetteville; and one sister, Karen Cooper of Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends 9-10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at Brashears Funeral Home. Due to covid-19, please practice social distancing and masks are required. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., with Kevin Bowerman, Eddie Bowerman and Brian Bowerman (in spirit) officiating and DJ Hoover providing music. Pallbearers will be Danny Bowerman, Mitch Bowerman, Shawn Vanhook, Scottie Carlton, Jeff Bowerman, Jared Asbury. Mykel Hoover and Scott Bowerman. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Cooper, Kameron Bowerman, Anthony Simpson, Eric Simpson and Cubby Hoover. Interment will immediately follow services at Marshall Cemetery, Huntsville.
