FAYETTEVILLE — James F. Martin,
93, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at his home of natural causes in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born in Pettigrew, Ark., to H. R. (Ruffie) and Ida Mae (Cowan) Martin on Feb. 17, 1927.
He was preceded in death by brothers Orville, Milburn and Elmer Martin and sisters Betty Baughman, Bessie and Ruth Maggard.
James is survived by wife Betty Lou ( Combs). They were married 72 years. They have two daughters, Beverly Graham and husband Tim of Springdale and Cheryl Haney and husband Charles of Fayetteville. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They have six grandchildren — Vanessa Brink ( Scot), Chad Haney, Steven Haney (Kim), Heath Haney (Amanda), Timmy Graham (Jessica) and Dusty Graham (Veronica); 18 great-grandchildren: Taylor ( Curtis) Williams, Tyler Kelly, Brooklyn Haney, Landon Haney, Acelyn Haney, Emery Haney, Kovyn Haney, Hudson Haney, Oxford Haney, Andrew (Caitlin) Brink, Paige Brink, Knox Graham, Rowan Graham, Rigley Graham, Grayre Graham, Jasper Graham, Hyde Graham and Vada Graham; and great- great- grandchildren Tinslee Williams and Cambrie Williams.
James was a proud World War II veteran, serving in the Army, and had multiple memorable stories of his time in Japan. He had the opportunity to go to Washington, D.C., with the Veteran Honor Flight in 2013. He was a deacon and later an elder at Baldwin Church of Christ for many years.
After 35 years, he retired from Standard Register as an industrial engineer. Upon retirement he continued with his love of woodworking. He particularly loved making clocks and furniture for friends and family in which he was so proud of.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 18, 4- 6 p. m. at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 19, 2 p. m. at Cornerstone Church. Interment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Crosses, Ark. Memorial donations may be made to Washington Regional Hospice and Gospel Tracts International. There will be live streaming at www.facebook.com/CornerstoneCofC. Due to covid-19 masks are required to be worn and social distancing practiced.
