ROGERS — William Ainley Woehr

-

died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was born June 27, 1946, to William Ainley and Evelyn Hultgren Woehr. Bill grew up in Moline, Ill.

His service years were spent in the Army with a tour in Vietnam. He began his life in Rogers working for Daisy, and later at Clorox as a draftsman. Bill had many interests that included reading most anything that was nonfiction, fixing anything that could be tinkered with, and spending time with his buds at the Adult Wellness Center where he had many friends and acquaintances. Everyone knew him as a kind, generous, friendly guy.

While living in Fayetteville to continue school, Bill met Debbie through a mutual friend. They hit it off from the beginning. Being a romantic guy, Bill came up with an elaborate plan to ask Debbie to marry him. He invited her out close to sunset for a ride on his BMW motorcycle. Through a tube-type intercom that he had rigged up and heading toward the sunset, he asked her to “ride down the road of life” with him. She said yes, and they spent the next 43 years doing just that.

During retirement Bill and Debbie built a new home in Rogers. He loved his home and was never happier than being there and tinkering in his workshop, sitting on the back porch, reading something about his many interests, or taking his little red Miata to the AWC for some exercise and socialization. This happy, easy-going man loved his life, his wife, and his friends, his home, and his dog Baxter. He had all the treasures he needed.

Bill is survived by his wife Deborah; his two sisters and brother-in-law, Pamela Orrison of Peoria, Ill., Gaye Woehr of Moline, Ill., and Billy Joe Powell; by his seven nieces and nephews; numerous extended family and dear friends.

Due to the covid virus, no formal services will be held. Bill totally enjoyed parties and get-togethers and would love being the center of attention at a celebration of his life, hopefully, this summer.

Memorials are suggested to the Northwest Arkansas
